Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is the most misunderstood icon of the recent times. Leftist media acted as a predator and preyed on his aggressive attitude. Only focussing on the speeches he made, which were mostly meant for deterrence, media cleverly overlooked the development he has brought in Gorakhpur. Veerappa Molly, a senior Congress leader, went on to say his appointment as Chief Minister of Uttar-Pradesh is the “biggest assault on secularism”. But what he forgot to mention is that while Uttar-Pradesh witnessed 403 small ( & big ) riots in the last 5 years, Gorakhpur and nearby areas witnessed none. The infrastructural development, the “Janta-Darbaar” and the world biggest railway platform at Gorakhpur railway station are testimony of Adityanath’s performance in last 18 years.
PRO – DEVELOPMENT
Fertilizer factories of Gorakhpur, once a chief source of local employment, were closed since last 26 years. Yogi kept on pushing the Central Government since last 10 years for the renovation of these factories but all his efforts went futile. It was only after 2014 that Modi Government looked into the issue seriously and finally last year these factories got restarted, opening gates for immense job opportunities in the region.
Contrary to his image of being a” Hindu-Hardliner”, CM Yogi Adityanath has presented a development agenda for all sections of society.
Talking inside the Parliament he praised PM Modi’s visionary decisions like Demonetization, pro-farmer “Jan-Dhan Scheme”, Digital India, Start Up India and pro-poor “Ujjwala Scheme” where LPG connections were provided to poor families. He presented his vision of making agriculture the backbone of Uttar-Pradesh’s development. He reminded the Lower-House how Encephalitis used to be the major cause of children’s death , during monsoons, in the East UP and to deal with that his efforts brought in an AIIMS in Gorakhpur.
In the very first press conference, CM Adityanath emphasized on his agenda of ensuring food & shelter to poor and enhancing the quality of the roads, infrastructures, toilets and other basic amenities. For development of Poorvanchal & Bundelkhand, he proposed to constitute Poorvanchal Development Board & Bundelkhand Development Board , respectively. Bringing in investment and going for a balanced business development model shall be his priority. He expressed his desire to be able to provide jobs to the youth within the state, so that they do not need to move outside in search of employment.
CRIME & CORRUPTION HATER
Few of the very first decisions CM Yogi Adityanath took was that to form an “Anti-Romeo Squad” and ordering ministers, government officers to submit their asset details within 15 days. To put a check on crime, corruption and ensuring safety of girls are integral parts of his agenda. His displeasure with political nepotism and favouritism resulted in sacking of non – government advisors, chairmen, deputy-chairmen and members previously employed by Akhilesh Yadav. He gave strict instructions to his ministers to refrain from using RED light VIP vehicles.
Speaking inside the Parliament, CM Yogi Adityanath put forward the fact that he has eradicated the “Goonda-Tax” culture from Gorakhpur. He ensured that no doctor , no businessman was ever kidnapped or harassed. Hence, on same lines he vouched to extend his anti – criminal policies to whole Uttar-Pradesh. A complete ban on cow smuggling has been put . DGP Javed Ahmed has been given strict orders to prepare a list of all criminals, gangsters and mafias operating within the state. Also CM has instructed administrative units like Police Stations and Tehsils to be free from any kind of political intervention.
An Advocate of INCLUSIVITY
Yogi Adityanath opened his press conference invoking the philosophy of “INTEGRAL HUMANISM” by Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Time & again he has stated his vision to be of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas”. The “Janta-Darbaar” of Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur has equally taken care of Muslims as that of Hindus. CM has clearly spoken that every road he builds, every school he establishes, every criminal he punishes and every AIIMS like hospital he opens will simultaneously benefit all sections of the society. Previous governments in the name of minority appeasement have only enjoyed power and contributed absolutely nothing for actual development. Least educated and worst hit children in UP from diseases like Encephalitis belong to Dalit and minority sections only. His government is duty-bound to ensure equal development of complete state.
CONCLUSION
All apprehensions related to CM Yogi Adityanath are mostly media driven. His previous track record in Gorakhpur in itself is the cogency of his credentials.
His seminal vision is to emancipate Uttar-Pradesh from the tutelage of crime, corruption, mafia, unemployment and poverty. He has resolved to develop Uttar-Pradesh on the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s model of a dream state.
And you still wonder why Gorakhpur kept re-electing Yogi Adityanath?
