The members (women to be specific) of the grand-old Congress party seem to be heavily influenced by its national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s `Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon’ campaign. In a move to establish a new standard to define ‘competitiveness’, a party worker named Rita Yadav in Pratapgarh staged an attack on her life to portray herself as a flag bearer of activism. However, her cake doughed as she has been arrested for her conspiracy against Prime Minister Modi to get a party ticket for the UP assembly election.
Congress leaders desperate to get a ticket
With Uttar Pradesh assembly elections nearing, a desperate Congress Party worker Rita Yadav resorted to an action-packed, crime thriller style to achieve her goals. The woman came to the limelight when she showed black flags during PM Modi’s rally in Sultanpur on November 16 last year. Afterwards, Yadav was shot in her leg by unidentified attackers last week.
Congress, as usual, found an opportunity to attack BJP and stated that it is the BJP‘s gundaraj. However, the party was tightly slapped when it was revealed that Yadav planned the attack to secure her ticket in the upcoming elections. Dreaming of riding on the sympathy card, the woman’ attempt failed brutally when she, along with her two associates, was arrested on January 12 for a “scripted attack.”
While interacting with the media, the Circle Officer of Chanda Kotwali police station, Satish Chandra Shukla, said, “Rita Yadav herself confessed that her eagerness to get the ticket for the assembly election in Uttar Pradesh had made her stage the entire act of getting herself shot at. She herself lodged an FIR after which police started an investigation.”
Shukla said that “It was later revealed that Rita Yadav, a resident of Sunawan Lalu’s Purva in Chanda Kotwali area, along with her accomplice driver Mohd Mustakim and Dharmendra Yadav were part of this conspiracy.”
Police further reported that “illegal firearms and cartridges have been recovered from them. A case of sedition had been registered against them. The accused have been sent to jail.”
Furthermore, Additional Superindent of Police, Sultanpur, Vipul Kumar Srivastava had also expressed his doubt. As per the Indian Express reports, he had said “There were some doubts regarding the incident as Yadav and Mustakeem were constantly changing their statements on the sequence of events. Moreover, the Lucknow-Varanasi highway being four-lane, it was difficult for a motorcycle to corner an SUV to stop it.”
Srivastava further told, “There is also blackening around the entry point of the wound, indicating Yadav was shot from a close range. We are looking into all the aspects. We are also taking the opinion of medico-legal experts.”
Rita Yadav, a desperate politician
Yadav, by hook and crook, wants to fight the elections. She left the Samajwadi party a few months back claiming that the party did not acknowledge her efforts. She stated, “A few days later, I was asked by local Congress leaders to come to Lucknow as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wanted to meet me. I met her. She appreciated my work and promised to stand by me. On returning to Sultanpur, I joined the Congress.”
Blowing her own trumpet, she also stated that she has been shot only because of her political work and had had no enmity with anyone. “The people in the area, the local leaders, are jealous of my popularity. I am leading the public, I do rounds of the area. Before firing at me, the shooter said, ‘Badi neta banti ho. Bahut prachar kar rahi ho (You think you are a big leader? You are going around campaigning).”
Well, there might be something wrong with Congress only as those who join the party, end up losing their political acumen.
