Loknath Behra, former Director-General of Police in Kerala had earlier revealed that the state is slowly emerging as a hot hub of terrorism. The retired police chief precisely stated that terrorist organizations are recruiting young brains from Kerala. Adding up the heat to these previously made claims and many such reports, now Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday shared a video of a group of people celebrating the Taliban’s horrifying victory in Afghanistan, in his Twitter account, in which he confirms the gun-wielding terrorists were speaking Malayali.

A video has been circulated on the internet, which shows that Taliban militants are overwhelmed with joy, speaking Malayalam after reaching the outskirts of Kabul. One of the militants goes down on his knees with tears in his eyes speaks in Malayali, and the other militant seems to understand what he said.

TFI has extensively reported about this previously, when Islamic State terrorist from Kerala, killed 28 Sikhs in Kabul Gurudwara, turned out to be a PFI ‘activist’. Unsurprisingly, the Kabul Gurudwara attack is not the only one; there have been frequent cases of PFI activists getting involved with global terror organisations. There have been reports about PFI activists joining ISIS, and a Times Now investigation had also suggested that some of the organisations are funding radical Islamists. PFI has also been linked to the global terrorist organization, Al-Qaeda. Further investigations have revealed that ISIS struck roots in Kerala in 2014, with modules sponsoring religious conversions and motivating professionals to join its fold in Afghanistan and Syria, as an alarming number of students seek admission to the University of Kerala for the same.
Previously, four converted women from Kerala, identified as Ayisha (Sonia Sebastian); Raffaela; Mariyam (Merrin Jacob) and Fathima Isa (Nimisha) joined ISIS but later wanted to return to back India and sought help from the Indian government. Moreover, a charge sheet previously filed by the National Investigation Agency back in July 2020, regarding the murder of Special Sub Inspector Wilson exposed the nexus of the ISIS terrorists active and flourishing in the state of Kerala.
There has been an ongoing process of radicalisation in the state of Kerala for quite some time now. It has been very actively promoting Jihad and classes on Jihad are conducted by some of its members. In these classes, the PFI even preaches that killing right-wing activists who oppose Islam would provide them ‘religious rewards in the afterlife.
Even though the viral video received negative criticisms from several corners, a section of people blatantly expressed their support to the Taliban, by claiming the establishment of the Taliban as a necessity for the governance of Afghanistan. The fall of Kabul is a horrifying yet historic event that carries important lessons in realpolitik for the whole world. The global terrorism landscape is a fast-moving one and people celebrating terrorism and violence should not be tolerated.
