Before leaving for Davos, Switzerland, US President Donald Trump had threatened Iran once again amid protests. Trump was in an interview with News Nation where he said, “the whole country is going to get blown up” if the unrest continues.
The US President is calling for regime change in Iran since the start of the protests in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meanwhile, Iran also issued a chilling warning to the US by saying Iran is ready for ‘all-out war.’
On Iranian warning, Trump responded, “I’ve left notification, anything ever happens… the whole country’s going to get blown up.”
The war of words between Iran and the US is clearly visible and the air of West Asia looks hotter than ever. Trump also added, “If anything happens, we’re going to wipe them off the face of the earth”.

War of Words Between the US and Iran
Additionally, on Tuesday (January 20), Trump also warned Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran responded by saying, “If the US were to take any action against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Tehran will ‘set fire to their world.”
Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, a spokesman for Iran’s armed forces, said AP, “Trump knows that if any hand of aggression is extended toward our leader, we not only cut that hand but also we will set fire to their world.”
During an interview with Politico, Trump referred to Khamenei as “a sick man who should run his country properly and stop killing people.”

The intensity of words and statements has increased from both sides in recent days, which is fueling speculation among people of a possible war in West Asia, if the situation keep escalating like this.
Donald Trump looks serious about over 4,500 people who have died in ongoing protests in Iran. On Tuesday, US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency released a report saying the death toll from the protests has reached at least 4,519 people, while over 26,300 people have been arrested.
The protests in Iran erupted in the final week of December amid soaring inflation and a sharp fall in the rial. As thousands of Iranians took to the streets demanding reforms and even regime change, authorities accused the United States and Israel of fomenting unrest and stoking tensions in Tehran.
