Durgiana Mandir Amritsar – Guide
Durgiana Mandir is a famous Hindu temple located in Amritsar city of Punjab. The presiding deity of this temple is Durga Mata Ji. This temple has been named Durgiana Mandir after the name of Goddess Durga. This temple is a very famous temple of Hindus located in Punjab. The idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu are also enshrined in this temple complex, hence this temple is known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple among the devotees.
History of this Temple
It is told about the history of Durgiana Mandir Amritsar, that there was a tree in the courtyard of this temple in which Luv and Kush tied the Ashwamedh Yagya of Maharaja Shri Ram. Later, Hanuman ji, who came to rescue this horse, was also tied to this tree. Since then this temple had become very famous. The original temple here was constructed in the 16th century. Later in 1921 AD, Harsai Mal Kapoor ji built the present form of this temple. This temple built at that time was inaugurated by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya.

The Durgiana Mandir Amritsar remains open throughout the week. You can come to visit this temple any day. This temple opens daily at 6:00 am. Devotees worship in this temple throughout the day and this temple closes at 10:00 pm.

This Takht is the highest seat of authority of the Khalsa and the seat of the Jathedar, the supreme spokesman of the Sikhs.
