Congress membership, Lok Sabha seats, and assembly seats are declining not just because of big-ticket exits but also because of their own cancel culture and non-conformity of opinions. Every now and then, its leaders issue statements that are disowned by the party as a whole. Interestingly, all of them agree with the thought process inside the four walls of party headquarters.
The same circle of humiliation has again come to the fore as Digvijay Singh has yet again become the scapegoat for outwardly spelling out the intentions of the Congress party. He has openly thanked Germany’s Foreign Affairs Ministry. Ironically, he even thanked Richard Walker, Chief International Editor at DW, a journalist, for commenting on India’s internal matter. Some desperation, Mr. Digvijay.

However, it is unfortunate for Diggi Raja that his party leaders were quick to distance themselves from his tweet. From current colleagues to former party henchmen, everyone made tweets claiming that there is no need for this thankful gesture towards Germany as Rahul Gandhi’s conviction, disqualification, and the democratic values of India are our internal matters.

But they can’t run away from the fact that several social media handles have been desperately seeking foreign intervention to paint a falsely negative image of Indian democracy, which is not necessarily against party lines. In fact, Rahul Gandhi, the party’s policy-shaper, too had pleaded before the UK, US, and other European nations to “reflect” and react on India’s supposed erosion of democratic values.
There are a plethora of incidences where Congress has distanced itself from its senior leaders, and that includes virtually everyone except the Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi, who is too big a leader in the Congress party to be double-crossed.

By now, virtually every media house has prepared a parallel template for the remarks of Congress leaders. For every controversial statement by the likes of leaders such as Digvijay Singh, Sam Pitroda, Shivraj Patil, or Jairam Ramesh, they should run parallel tickers stating that Congress distances itself from the outrageous remarks of its senior leaders. However, it is interesting to note that recent reports suggest that very soon Congress may issue clarifications that it doesn’t stand with Rahul Gandhi’s line of thinking on Veer Savarkar.
So it’s true.
