He participated in two games during the Malaysian leg of the India Under-19 team’s tour. In first-class cricket, he had a 300* against Maharashtra. In the same game, he and Murali Vijay combined for a first wicket stand of 462 runs. For the 2011 tour of the West Indies and the subsequent tour of England, he was selected for the Indian Test team.
