‘Prosecute Kanhaiya for anti-national slogans,’ says Kejriwal govt, Congress and left liberals melt like cheap candle

Sadji makes an epic U-turn

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who has been under fire from all sides because of the deadly riots in Northeast Delhi that got triggered by party MLA Amanatullah Khan’s support to the Islamists at Shaheen Bagh and beyond has now succumbed on the issue of granting sanction to former JNUSU President and CPI leader, Kanhaiya Kumar.

During the riots, AAP drew fire over the involvement of AAP leader and Corporator, Tahir Hussain in the riots at Chand Bagh and also the gruesome murder of IB staffer Ankit Sharma.

Till now, the Delhi government was sitting on the question of granting Delhi police the sanction to prosecute Kanhaiya Kumar in the 2016 sedition case.

Kanhaiya Kumar is the poster boy of the Lutyens’ elite and the pseudo-secular opposition parties. A CPI source has alleged that Delhi CM Kejriwal wanted to “appease the Modi government, which had also attacked him on this issue”. The source added, “After facing the heat because of the riots, this is a way for him to curry favour with the Centre.”

The AAP supremo has himself been supportive of Kanhaiya Kumar. In 2016, when Kanhaiya Kumar was facing nationwide criticism over the sedition episode, Kejriwal had tweeted, “Heard Kanhaiya’s speech many times. Amazing clarity of thought expressed wonderfully. He said what most people have been feeling. God bless him.”

After blessing Kanhaiya Kumar, Kejriwal kept shielding him from being prosecuted.

However, Kejriwal has finally relented triggering a massive outrage and meltdown from the Lutyens’ elitist circles and the Opposition parties.

Former Union Home Minister and senior Congress leader who had heaped praises on AAP after its Delhi Elections victory, has now come down heavily on the Kejriwal led Delhi government. He has tweeted, “Delhi Government is no less ill-informed than the central government in its understanding of sedition law. I strongly disapprove of the sanction granted to prosecute Mr Kanhaiya Kumar and others for alleged offences under sections 124A and 120B of IPC.”

AAP won, bluff and bluster lost. The people of Delhi, who are from all parts of India, have defeated the polarising, divisive and dangerous agenda of the BJP

I salute the people of Delhi who have set an example to other states that will hold their elections in 2021 and 2022

Bollywood actor and ardent Kejriwal supporter, Simi Garewal too has hit out at the Delhi CM on the decision to grant sanction to prosecute Kanhaiya Kumar. She tweeted, “In this one step towards prosecuting #KanhaiyaKumar I have lost all the respect I ever had for @ArvindKejriwal and @AamAadmiParty. I regret that I ever defended or supported them.”

Singer and Music Director, Vishal Dadlani who has campaigned for the AAP in the past has also hit out at Kejriwal. He tweeted, “AAP started out as people criticising a government that was wrong. Most AAP supporters are still those people, & still do exactly the same. Some of us, at great risk. We also despise the political tradition of trading right & wrong for votes/image/gain. This is plain wrong.”

Another such left-liberal from the Bollywood, Anurag Kashyap too has launched a verbal assault at Kejriwal. He tweeted, “Mahashay @ArvindKejriwal ji.. aap ko kya kahein .. spineless toh compliment hai .. aap to ho hi nahin .. AAP to hai hi nahin .. कितने में बिके ? (Mr Kejriwal, what do I say about you. Even ‘spineless’ would be an understatement. AAP is reduced to nothing. At what price did you sell yourselves away?)”

— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) February 28, 2020

Journalists like Nikhil Wagle too have come out mounting an attack at Kejriwal over allowing Kanhaiya Kumar to be implicated. Nikhil Wagle tweeted, “Whether Kanhaiya comes clean or not is not the point, @ArvindKejriwal has helped BJP’s vendetta politics!”

— nikhil wagle (@waglenikhil) February 29, 2020

Sagarika Ghose too has reacted in an adverse manner and tweeted, “Sloganeering is not sedition as per 1995 SC judgment which ruled slogan “Khalistan Zindabad” NOT seditious. @AamAadmiParty govt shld have put its foot down and said no case for sedition can be made out against @kanhaiyakumar. Sedition law must go. Scrap colonial era Section124A.”

— Sagarika Ghose (@sagarikaghose) February 29, 2020

While Kanhaiya Kumar continues to face outrage and criticism at the ground level all across India, especially from her patriotic youth, the Lutyens’ elites have been constantly trying to project Kanhaiya as the ‘voice of Indian youth’.

Till now, the elitist gang was banking upon Kejriwal to shield Kanhaiya Kumar. But Kejriwal whose own bluff has been called out is no longer able to shield Kanhaiya Kumar. This is why he has deserted Kanhaiya Kumar and by extension the entire left-liberal cabal. And the entire left-liberal cabal comprising of politicians, journalists and Bollywood actors is now fuming about it.
