Bageshwar Chandrika Devi Mandir – Guide

Chandrika Devi Temple is a very beautiful temple with idols and idols of Goddess Durga and Goddess Chandrika. This temple is located in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. It is one of the most popular temples in the region. Chandrika Devi Temple is just 2 km away from Bageshwar city.

History of this Temple

Chandrika Mata is originally believed to be from Champawat. In the year 1698 to 1701, during the reign of Chand kings, Pandit Shriram Pandey of Simalta village, who was their family priest, came to Bageshwar with Chandika Devi and Golju. According to the information mentioned in the copper plate and inscription, a small Mandir of Bageshwar Chandrika Devi Mandir was built on the Bhileshwar mountain.

At some distance Golju was established. Which are now known as Chaurasi Golju. Pandey descendants made Chaurasi village near the temple their residence and settled here. Since then the generation of Pandey descendants is serving the mother as the priest of Chandika temple. Chandika Mandir Committee was formed unanimously in 1988. A grand temple of Chandika Mata was constructed in the 90s under the supervision of the committee.

Bageshwar Chandrika Devi Mandir Timings

Bageshwar Chandrika Devi Mandir opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 9:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 5:30 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 8:30 PM in the evening.

Gauri Udiyar Temple is one of the holy temples of Bageshwar which is situated inside a natural cave. This famous Gauri Udiyar temple of Maa Gauri is situated at a distance of about 8 kilometers from Bageshwar.

Vijaypur

Vijaypur is also a very popular place among the famous and scenic places of Bageshwar. The location of the snow-capped mountains on the Himalayan range offers a spectacular view. For your information, let us tell you that Vijaypur is located at a distance of about 30 kilometers from Bageshwar.
