Change is the only constant. In the political circles it was said Matoshree autocratically controlled the strings of Maharashtra politics. Nothing substantiated could happen without the knowledge and permission of Hindu Hridya Samrat late BalaSaheb Thackeray. But incompetence and greed of dynast Uddhav ji has demolished all the aura of Matoshree. The betrayal from the very soul of the party – Hindutva has resulted in a political doom for the ‘ever-Supreme’ Thackerays. Will the last evening surprise prove to be the death nail in the political future of Thackerays? Probably yes, let’s analyse why?
Thackerays owned a legacy, courtesy BalaSaheb Thackeray, who defined the politics of Hindutva on the land of Marathis. Along with addding to the prestige of Maratha manus, he wore Hindutva on his sleeves and in his entire political life, he stood for the same. However, the current generation of Thackerays are hell bent on maligning his unmatchable legacy. And Uddhav Thackeray by crossing the lakshman rekha drawn by his father has scripted his downfall.
Eknath Shinde: “Shiv Sainik as the CM”
Just a fortnight back no political analyst would have predicted this outcome of the Maharashtra political infighting. The Rebellion within the Shiv Sena has become a domino effect that in many ways has resulted in a political dead end for the Thackerays in Maharashtra politics. Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray used a false pretext to break the Hindutva alliance with ‘Nationalist’ BJP. This very lie will prove to be the cause of his political hara-kiri.

The Hindutva winning Yuti was broken on canards that BJP had promised to make Shiv Sainik the CM for half the tenure. This was just a facade to cover up the over-ambitions of Uddhav Ji. This boomeranged pretty badly on him yesterday when the BJP announced that “Shiv Sainik will become the next CM”.
Earlier he made a gaffe and said that he was ready to resign and asked for one guarantee – “…can they guarantee that the next CM will be a Sainik?” So, this announcement is nothing short of an egg on his face.

In his first address, New CM Shinde answered Uddhav saying, “BJP has more numbers and it could have easily taken the CM chair, but by showing magnanimity, they chose a Shiv Sainik of Balasaheb Thackeray.”
This magnanimity will usher a new cohesion between the BJP and Shiv Sena karyakartas. As this will reverberate among the karyakartas of Shiv Sena that had BJP promised that cooked up story, they would have made Shiv Sainik CM of the state in 2019 itself. They would have avoided any breakaway in Hindutva. So, the ideological pull will snatch away the remainder of karyakartas from the Thackerays.
What’s next?
Now that Uddhav ji’s canards and ideological betrayal has been severely punished, the next step can be the complete takeover of Shiv Sena. The Thackerays no longer enjoy supremacy even in their own party. With more than 2/3rd of the MLAs and majority of the MPs, the Shinde camp is staking claim over the Shiv Sena itself. This will take away the last vestige of Thackerays. With no hold on power, party, karyakartas and ideology the Thackerays have been pushed to political oblivion. The rest will be assured by the victory of new Hindutva Yuti ( BJP and Shinde’s Shiv Sena) – in the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

“Autowala” jibe will be the biggest political thorn in the eyes of Thackerays
It seems that the opposition has learned nothing from the success story of PM Modi. He used all the stones (insults and personal attacks like ‘Chaiwala’) thrown at him by the opposition to build his impregnable fortress. Just like that, Uddhav ji in his departing FB address made deplorable attacks on rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde.
Instead of political or ideological points he made pathetic personal comment on his previous profession ‘Autowala’. In a way to insult Shinde, he crossed all levels of political decency which is and will hurt him badly. All professions if done with full dedication and honesty can be borne as a badge of honour. The jibes like ‘Chaiwalas’, ‘Gaiwalas’ and ‘Autowalas’ will only hurt the opposition and rally commoners behind that hardworking individual.
This one move of BJP has virtually shut the door for Thackerays. They have taken away the power for which Uddhav Ji compromised with Hindutva. Adding insult to injury, they have made sure that Eknath Shinde gets the control over the Shiv Sena and Thackerays are a politically done deal.
