Anju Mahendru was born in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India, on January 11, 1946. She is an actress who has appeared in films such as Intaquam (1969), Ssshhhh… Koi Hai (2001), and Jewel Thief (1967). Anju Mahendru was born in Mumbai on January 11, 1946, and has appeared in numerous films and television series. However, her personal life has kept her in the spotlight. Anju’s most well-known relationship was with Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna. They were together for over seven years before breaking up.

Career
Anju Mahendru began modelling at the age of thirteen. Kaifi Azmi, a poet and lyricist, discovered her and suggested her to Basu Bhattacharya. In 1966, Basu cast her in Uski Kahani. Uski Kahani was Mahendru’s first film, as well as Basu Bhattacharya’s maiden directorial effort.
Anju Mahendru went on to star in films like Jewel Thief, Bandhan, Intaqam, and Dastak after that. She never made it as a leading lady and was forced to settle for supporting roles. In the mid-1980s, she appeared in Nari Hira’s television films with up-and-coming Aditya Pancholi.
She returned to television acting in the 1990s, appearing in a variety of soap operas. In the Zee TV series Hamari Betiyoon Ka Vivaah, she played Trishna’s mother-in-law.
In Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, she played Maan’s daadi. In Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, she also played Jeevika, Maanvi, and Daboo’s daadi. In Star Plus’ Ye Hai Mohabbatein, she plays Sujatha.
She is currently seen in Rishton Ka Chakravyuh on Star Plus as Gayatri Singh, the grandmother of the female lead, Anami.

Short biography and relationship of Anju Mahendru
The year was 1966. Rajesh Khanna became a superstar while Anju was a struggling actress.
They met and fell in love right away. Anju saw Rajesh Khanna as a caring boyfriend. At the same time, Rajesh Khanna would prey on him and leave no stone unturned in his attempt to defraud him of his money.
Rajesh Khanna took his connection with Anju very seriously. After several years of living in the Live Inn, Kaka proposed to Anju in 1971. Anju’s mother was constantly pressuring her daughter to marry Rajesh Khanna, but she refused.
Rajesh Khanna was enraged by Anju’s persistent denials. Anju’s name became associated with West Indies cricketer Gary Sobers in the meantime. This irritated Rajesh Khanna, who ended his relationship with Anju in 1972.
