Imran issues a final threat before being booted out

  • Imran Khan-led government is facing a tough time given the exponential rise in inflation and the unavailability of basic goods.
  • Imran Khan also said that he will not meet Shahbaz Sharif, the leader of the opposition who is seeking time from the Prime Minister to discuss various ongoing issues.
  • Pakistan is witnessing its worst inflation in 70 years. Currently, inflation stands at more than 9 per cent and has driven many into suicides.

Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is known for making grand Bollywood style comments. The opposition parties in Pakistan have formed an alliance named Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) against Imran Khan and the Military for holding sham elections and installing a “puppet” Prime Minister.

Imran Khan-led government is facing a tough time given the exponential rise in inflation and the unavailability of basic goods. Capitalizing on the popular anger against the Imran Khan government, the opposition parties want to ensure early dismissal of the Prime Minister, who still has one and a half years left. The opposition parties called the Imran Khan government “incapable and illegitimate” and demanded his resignation.

However, Captain Khan is not ready to give up. “If I take to the streets, then you (opposition parties) won’t find any place to hide,” Mr Khan said, adding that he would be more dangerous if forced to step down.

Imran Khan also said that he will not meet Shahbaz Sharif, the leader of the opposition who is seeking time from the Prime Minister to discuss various ongoing issues.

Imran Khan said, “I get called out for not meeting Shehbaz as he is the Leader of the Opposition. (But) I see him as the nation’s criminal.”

On the matter of the possible return of former Prime Minister and veteran leader Nawaj Sharif, Imran Khan said, “Please come back, we are waiting for you” but added: “He will not come back. He loves money.”

Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of Nawaj Sharif, who has established herself as a popular leader, slammed Imran Khan for making irresponsible statements. “(Khan) sounds like a person who is not only defeated but has also accepted his defeat. 4 years into the govt & he is still only whining. The ‘cartels’ you are complaining about are the MAFIAS on your right & left who have fleeced 220 million & who run your kitchen,’ Ms Maryam tweeted.

“The cases you made against Sharifs and PML-N were false & fabricated and were bound to meet the fate they have met. Now that your reality has dawned on the world, do not blame the judiciary. You have only your vindictiveness & revengefulness to blame,” she added.

Pakistan is witnessing its worst inflation in 70 years. Currently, inflation stands at more than 9 per cent and has driven many into suicides. Ghee, sugar, petrol, poultry, electricity have all seen a rise of a minimum of 48 per cent to more than 100 per cent in various other segments.

Pakistan’s credibility in the international market has been one of the lowest when it comes to repaying loans. Rarely one can find any international financing institution, which has provided a loan to the Islamic nation and got the money back. In 2022, Pakistan is expecting a $1billion conditional loan from the International monetary fund.

As reported by the TFI, ever since the Imran Khan government came to the power on the back of its promise of strengthening the economy and creating jobs, it has trudged along the exact opposite route. It has doubled down on its engagement with the Taliban and has been promoting terrorism against India.

Lately, even the Taliban has been ditching Pakistan calling Imran Khan a puppet. En route to its weakening relationship with the Taliban, it has witnessed a huge decline in its popularity, and various violent, as well as non-violent forces in the country, are on the verge of breaking the minnow into furthermore states.

While Taliban Khan is rejoicing over his nexus with China and the Taliban, its population is on the verge of collapse. As the price of food items go up, the opposition parties have opened all fronts against Imran Khan, and as soon as the Army pulls back its support, the Prime Minister will be forced to resign despite his efforts to put up a tough face.
