Manufactured Malice, Brainwashing, Paid hooliganism and Jams – All about Shaheen Bagh protests

Delhi schools had a short winter break this time around. But not for the girls studying sitting on protests at Shaheen Bagh. These girls studying in Delhi schools did not return to what the AAP government in Delhi claims to be world-class schools, but are being used as political pawns in order to corner the Modi government.

The faceless organisers behind the Shaheen Bagh protests have found a campaign against the CAA in the form of women and children protesting at Shaheen Bagh, especially young girls. In one of the videos, a girl can be heard saying, “We’ll not be allowed to wear clothes. We’ll be given food only once a day at the detention camps.” Young kids are being misled with the same ‘concentration camp’ myth which was initially propagated by the opposition parties.

Another video shows girls of a tender age hurling abuses in the form of Azadi slogans. Abuses of such a nature and intensity cannot be the handiwork of young kids. This is clearly the sinister conspiracy of certain political outfits, who have orchestrated the protest.

"We'll not be allowed to wear clothes. We'll be given food only once a day at the detention camps" says this girl at #ShahinBaghProtest

Its shocking to see how kids, especially girls, are being used as propaganda props to stir animosity.#बिकाऊ_प्रदर्शनकारी #बिकाऊ_प्रदर्शनकारी pic.twitter.com/UQl4NyaPkV

The protesters are being misled into believing that the CAA is the launchpad into mass slaughter of Muslims, concentration camps, disenfranchisement of Muslims and the like. These protests, therefore, want the CAA to be rolled back. The organisers of the Shaheen Bagh protests, however, have completely different ends to achieve. The women protesters are only a means for the political elements to achieve those ends.

The foremost purpose of the protests is obviously polarisation of Muslim votes. Competitors are many, and therefore none of the political forces want to lag behind. Moreover, the Shaheen Bagh protests are taking place in the run-up to Delhi Assembly elections, making it that much more important for the political parties surviving on vote bank politics.

As far as AAP is concerned Kejriwal is tacitly supporting the protests. He is not speaking against the protests despite the logjams created by the protests. There is a direct conflict of interest involved. AAP MLA from the region, Amanatullah Khan has himself drawn fire in connection with the Jamia violence last month. The protests carried out by Jamia students against the CAA had turned violent in Jamia Nagar, which happens to be in vicinity of the Shaheen Bagh area.

Moreover, Abdur Rehman, who currently faces charges of leading the violent mobs of Seelampur and then encouraging them for resorting to violence, has now been given a ticket from Seelampur. The Kejriwal led party benefits from the anti CAA violence and thus remains quiet about such blatant display of violence.

The Congress hasn’t remained aloof and naturally so, the Delhi Assembly polls are around the corner and it cannot afford to lose the Muslim vote share to Kejriwal. Mani Shankar Aiyar’s shameful ‘quail’ barb at the protest site marked the entry of Congress in the staged protests. Other Congress leaders- Shashi Tharoor, Sandeep Dikshit, Subhash Chopra (Congress’ Delhi unit president) also made an appearance at Shaheen Bagh.

The opposition has sinister objects of tarnishing India’s image and deriving political mileage out of it. One of the organisers has candidly confessed about the agenda of getting the international media to cover the protests.

A few days ago, a Shaheen Bagh body had called off the protesters. But the protests haven’t abated. They haven’t come to a halt because abatement of protests is not in the interest of certain political elements. They want to draw an analogy between the Pro-democracy Hong Kong protests and Shaheen Bagh protests.

The kind of sympathetic coverage that the local media has extended to the Shaheen Bagh protests, reveals the massive PR campaign dedicated to the protests. With spotlight on the idea of women leading the protests and images of langars, there has been a constant effort to lend a moral high ground to the Shaheen Bagh protests.

Testimonies of refreshments and money factor in the Shaheen Bagh protests reveal the heavy quantum of political investment in the Shaheen Bagh protests.

Facts About #ShaheenBagh Protest Exposed!!
It’s all about money!! pic.twitter.com/tzN6BksiJN

— Harsh Sanghavi (Modi ka Parivar) (@sanghaviharsh) January 15, 2020

While the Shaheen Bagh protesters are being showcased as a revolt against the CAA, the mention of Triple Talaq, Article 370 abrogation and other issues in the larger narrative show how the protests have a rather communal content built into them, something that is further corroborated by the attack on Kashmiri Pandits.

https://twitter.com/RC_Shukl/status/1219093811089068032

Shaheen Bagh protests are an exercise in indoctrination, communalisation and paid hooliganism. On the surface, it is being made to look like a peaceful, generous agitation against the CAA, however the reality is that it is nothing more than a sinister political plot with definite ends.
