At a time when the whole country is demanding the government to avenge the Pulwama terrorist attack and sacrifice of the brave soldiers, some opposition political parties are busy in playing their usual dirty politics. The CPI(M) mouthpiece in Bengal, Ganashakti, went on to display soft corner for terrorist nation Pakistan. Its headline screams, “To cover up our failure in protecting jawans, Pakistan is being targeted.” It means that CPI(M) officially believes that India is targeting Pakistan to cover its failures.

Here CPI(M) is showing soft corner not just for Pakistan but also for the Jaish-e-Mohammad which came forward and took the responsibility of the Pulwama terrorist attack. And also there is nothing to cover up, as Pakistan based, funded and supported terrorist organization, Jaish-e-Mohammad, said that it is behind the carnage in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. The CPI(M) has gone blind in their hatred for the BJP. They consider BJP as their enemy and it seems that they are following old rule that ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’. It’s a well-known fact that Communist Party of India supported creation of Pakistan.
Earlier, while condemning Pulwama terror attacks, the CPI(M) advocated for dialogue with Pakistan. In their condemnation letter, the CPI(M) said, “Violence is not the answer to resolve issues, which require the engagement of all stakeholders in the state. The Modi government had promised, three years ago, to initiate a political process involving all stakeholders through dialogue. This has not happened. This must be done immediately.”
The phrase “Violence is not the answer to resolve issues” is coming from a party which uses violence as tool to eliminate its political rivals.
In 2015, the CPI(M) in its journal “People’s Democracy” had said that the Narendra Modi government should “stop echoing the aggressive anti-Pakistan posture of the BJP”. It said, “While recognizing that there are forces within Pakistan who would try to hamper the civilian government’s efforts to improve relations with India, what the Modi government should do is to stop echoing the aggressive anti-Pakistan posture of the BJP.”
In 2017, the BJP spokesperson GVL Narsimha Rao rightly described CPI(M) as ‘mouthpiece’ of Pakistan, China. He had said, “Instead of standing with the armed forces, the CPI(M) and the perverse intellectuals are standing with separatists, stone pelters and terrorists. In reality, the CPI(M) has now become a China and Pak mouthpiece. Those who are targeting the Army chief are ‘Jaichands’ sucking up to hostile neighbours and backstabbing India.”
In 2016, the CPI(M) had slammed PM Modi for referring to “human rights violations” in Balochistan and Gilgit during his Independence Day speech.
The CPI(M) had also attacked Indian Army General Bipin Rawat for backing Major Leetul Gogoi, who had used a Kashmiri youth as a human shield.
The country is in shock and the callous opposition parties are playing petty politics. It’s time for action and of politics. Political differences can be sorted out later on. At this point in time, national interest should be the priority of all the political parties if they are really pro-India. When it comes to protecting the nation, all the political parties should show unity. But it seems that some parties are not willing to stand united at difficult times and are busy scoring cheap political points.
