The leftist cabal which has been trying hard to break India using anti-India forces from the outside as well as from the inside has now come up with a new ploy. The latest trick from the book of the leftist cabal is the call to divide India’s south from the north. It is hardly surprising that the issue was raked up at a time when Kerala is reeling under devastating floods. The death toll has reached over 400 and the catastrophic floods have claimed lakhs of people in the state homeless. The left cabal has been alleging that the centre and the BJP-ruled states are not providing sufficient aid to Kerala in a time of acute crisis. Even when the centre has already allocated Rs. 500 crores towards Kerala as assistance and NDRF has evacuated 15,000 people in the state. What is shocking is that the same sentiments have been echoed across the borders from our neighbour Pakistan at the same time.
A Pakistani website Defence.pk on May 23, 2017 had unashamedly republished an article published originally in an Indian digital newspaper, The News Minute. The article ‘United States of South India: Can a southern collective get us a better deal from Delhi?’ had been published on The News Minute on July 14th, 2016. The article which begins by explaining the south’s contribution to revenues and the meagre funds it gets in return from the centre ends by explaining how it has been at a disadvantage due to the lack of development in the north India. It goes on to explain that since south India is developed and has a higher per capita income than the north, it suffers from a disadvantage since the central government gives more to the northern states which have a lower rate of development and a high population. While this article ends by explaining that how secession is not an option for the south, this sentiment was not echoed by the Pakistani website last year and also by other Indian websites which seem to have gotten their hands on this propaganda at the time of Kerala floods. MK Venu of The Wire which is a left leaning website shared the article at a time when Indian Army and Navy personnel without regard to north and south were saving the lives of people in Kerala. Shekhar Gupta of The Print too chose this as the opportune moment and seconded the demand for a separate south India while the floods were taking lives of the common people in the state. He shared an older article which raised more or less the same points, along the lines of the leftist cabal.

The timing of the whole incident points that there has been a co-ordinated attempt to carry out this propaganda. At the behest of forces working from both inside the country and outside, a backing from Pakistan too could not be ruled out considering the leftist cabal are hovering like vultures at a time when Kerala is suffering.
The whole premise of the article published in The News Minute can be easily challenged, after all you can take India or any other developed country as an example where taxes are always progressive in nature. Of course the South pays a lot more in tax revenues, because it generates more income than the north. Higher the income, higher the taxes, that is the only fair way to generate revenues. One should also keep in mind that a huge population of employees from cities like Chennai, Bengaluru is constituted of working class people from north India. This working class participates in the income tax and other taxes deposited to the centre to a large extent. As far as growth is concerned, there are various reasons which can be cited for the consistent growth and development in the south, from the partition era to all the wars India fought since its independence the south was rarely ever under the line of fire directly. South also has benefited a lot from adopting English as the second language, officially or unofficially, this made the immigration process easier, leading to high percentage of foreign currency remittance from them.
