The Delhi Police has urged a Delhi court to award the Death penalty to former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and four other convicts in the murder of Intelligence Bureau staffer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots. The prosecution made the submission during the sentencing phase after the accused were convicted, arguing that the nature of the crime places it within the “rarest of rare” category under Indian law.
