An English teacher was arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault his student in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan.
The accused identified as Sharukh worked at as a teacher in a government school in the district.
According to reports, the accused entered the house of his student late at night and tried to sexually assault the victim.
When the student raised an alarm, the accused fled the scene on a motorcycle.
After the incident came to light, angry villagers reached the school and beat the accused
Police have registered a case against him under POCSO Act and other sections.
The accused teacher is originally from Sawai Madhopur and was currently appointed on probation period.
After the incident, the education department has suspended him.
Police say that the matter is being investigated seriously and the victim’s statement is being recorded.
