Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received yet another death threat, nearly a year after gunshots were fired outside his Bandra residence. This latest threat was sent via WhatsApp to the Mumbai Transport Department in Worli, warning of plans to kill the actor by entering his home and to blow up his car with a bomb.
Following the threat, Mumbai Police registered a case against an unidentified person at the Worli Police Station and have launched an investigation into the origin and credibility of the message. Security around the 59-year-old actor’s residence has been further increased.
This is not the first instance the Bollywood actor has faced such threat to his security. Khan has received multiple death threats in the last few years, and most of these threats are believed to be connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang is said to have held a vendetta against Khan over his role in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, as the blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
In 2024 alone, Khan received a threat from the Bishnoi gang either to go to a temple and publicly apologise in the blackbuck case or pay Rs 5 crore. He was threatened at the end of the year by an unidentified individual demanding Rs 2 crore. Two men also tried to sneak into his Panvel farmhouse on fake IDs, raising further doubts about his safety.
Past threats have involved a 2023 email supposedly written by gangster Goldy Brar and a 2022 handwritten note discovered near his house.
Responding to the threats, Salman Khan addressed the media, saying that his fate is in divine hands. He added that he now restricts his movements, traveling only between his home, Galaxy Apartments, and film sets.

“I’m not worried when I’m with the press,” he said, “but when I’m without them, it cramps my style.”
