A shocking case of moral policing has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar. Six youth from the Muslim community have been arrested for disrobing a Muslim girl’s Hijab, molesting her while airing their resentment against her developing friendship with a Hindu boy. The molesters even recorded video of the act to moral police the Interfaith friends.
The incident is said to have unfolded on Tuesday, its video is currently doing rounds on social media, sparking public outrage against Islamic fundamentalism.
In the viral video, one of the elderly accused can be seen forcibly disrobing the Muslim female victim’s hijab, while his accomplices verbally abuse, molest and assault her as well as the Hindu boy accompanying her.

The incident unfolded in a narrow lane in Khalapar area. The Interfaith friends duo, 20-year-old Muslim girl named Farheen and a Hindu boy named Sachin, had gone there to collect a loan instalment.
The Muslim victim, Farheen’s father Farhana is a resident of Khalapar. He is an employee of Utkarsh Small Finance Limited. At the time of the incident, Farheen was accompanied by Sachin on a motorcycle on her mother’s instructions.
While they were on route, a group of 8-10 Muslim men confronted them and started abusing and physically assaulting the duo.
After getting information, Police personnel rushed to the spot. They quickly dispersed the unruly mob to escort the duo safely to the Police station. Subsequently, based on the complaint filed by the Muslim girl, Farheen, they registered a case in this matter under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Muzaffarnagar City Circle Officer (CO) Raju Kumar Sao said, “On April 12, between approximately 4 and 4:30 PM, a Hindu man from Bhavan area and a Muslim woman from Khalapar, both associated with Utkarsh Small Finance Bank, were returning from Sujdu after collecting a loan installment. They were stopped and assaulted by some locals in Darzi Wali Gali.”
Following the complaint, the Police arrested six accused. Later, they were seen limping out of the Police station.

CO Raju Kumar Sao said, “Further arrests will be made as more people are identified from the video. Strict legal action will follow.”
