A major clash erupted at South Asian University (SAU) in New Delhi between members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI). The ABVP highlighted that leftist student groups attempted to disrupt religious harmony by forcibly serving non-vegetarian food in a designated mess area where fasting students were observing a sattvic diet in Mahashivratri.
According to ABVP, a large number of students at SAU had formally requested the mess administration to provide sattvic food for those observing Mahashivratri fast. This request was approved by the university administration, and over 100 students had submitted their names to avail of the special meal arrangement.
Shocking! On Mahashivratri, SFI goons at SAU forcibly tried to break students’ fast by forcing non-veg on them, abusing, and assaulting them!
Religious freedom is a constitutional right! Why is it under attack on campus? Will the so-called secular brigade stay silent now?

ABVP stated that members of SFI deliberately attempted to disrupt the religious atmosphere by bringing non-vegetarian food into the mess designated for fasting students. When students protested peacefully, SFI members engaged in provocation, physical assault, and verbal abuse.
ABVP Delhi Prant Mantri, Sarthak Sharma, strongly condemned the incident, calling it an act of ideological terrorism.
“Despite the administration making proper arrangements, the leftist group tried to impose their food preferences on others. This is not only insensitive but also an outright attack on religious freedom,” Sarthak Sharma stated.
As tensions escalated, SFI members resorted to violence, attacking ABVP-affiliated students. Several videos of the clash have surfaced on social media, showing a woman student being assaulted inside the university premises. While SFI has attempted to shift the blame onto ABVP, eyewitnesses claim that it was SFI members who initiated the violence.
ABVP has submitted a formal complaint (complaint to proctor sir) to the university’s Proctor, demanding strict action against SFI members involved in the attack. The organization has also emphasized that freedom to practice religious customs is a constitutional right, and any attempt to violate it must be condemned and punished.
