Gogamedi Mandir Hanumangarh – Guide 

The Gogamedi Mandir of Gogaji is one of the major temple of Rajasthan which is located in Hanumangarh in the town of Gogamedi. Let us tell you that this temple is dedicated to Gogaji Maharaj who is also known as Jaharveer Gogaji. The most important thing about this temple is that people of all religions visit this temple.

Goga ji is also called the god of snakes and even today it is believed that if a person bitten by a snake is brought here, he becomes free from the poison of the snake. Tell that people also know Goga ji by the names of Jahar Peer, Gogaji Chauhan, Gugga and Zahir Veer.

History of this Temple

Gogaji was born in the Churu district of Rajasthan to the Chauhan king Zewar and Rani Bachhal. The birth time of Gogaji is believed to be around 900 AD. He spent his childhood at his birth place. Rani Bachal had prayed to her Guru Gorakhnath to get a child, the Guru was doing penance then, he told Rani Bachal that he would give her prasad to get a child as soon as her penance was over.

Guru gave the queen a fruit named Gugal and after eating this fruit she became pregnant. According to the Guru’s blessings, the son born to him was very powerful and he was named Gogaji after the name of the fruit named Gugal. Gogaji is a famous local deity for the people of Rajasthan. He also has a temple which is known as ‘Than’.

Gogamedi Mandir Hanumangarh Timings

Gogamedi Mandir Hanumangarh opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 8:00 PM in the evening.

Shri Kabootar Sahib Gurudwara is situated at a distance of about 80 km from Hanumangarh in Nohar town. This Gurdwara was built in the month of November, 1706 to commemorate the historic visit of Guru Gobind Singh.
