Contrary to popular media reports, Kohli fans and Mamata’s opinion, Saurav Ganguly resigned from BCCI willingly

For certain individuals, inventing delusional conspiracy theories are their favourite past time. They have a habit of passing their needless judgement over any minor event and presenting a grave scenario. Apparently, several Kohli fans and TMC leaders have been peddling conspiracy theories around the routine appointment of the BCCI President.

BJP couldn’t “jail” Ganguly, ousted him from BCCI

Recently, Saurav Ganguly completed his tenure as the BCCI President. He was appointed in 2019 and served the office for three years. There were reports that he might get another chance but the appointment of Roger Binny as the new BCCI Chief ended all these media speculations.

Now speculations are spreading like wildfire that Ganguly might become the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). But this routine process of elections/appointments in the BCCI has been caught in needless political controversies.

After Ganguly’s resignation as BCCI President, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee gave it a Bengali spin. Making it an issue of Bengali pride, she stressed that grave injustice has been meted out to Sourav Ganguly with this new development in BCCI. As per Bengal CM, the BJP-led Modi government ousted Sourav Ganguly from BCCI under a well-planned conspiracy. She added that she can’t accept this injustice to ‘dada’.

Additionally, She advised, former Indian Captain, Ganguly to contest for the post of ICC President. She also alleged that Ganguly has been deprived of the post because he is a popular figure. She ‘requested’ the Modi government to not take “political decisions” rather it should take steps for the sake of sports.

She said, “I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure Sourav Ganguly is allowed to contest the ICC elections. He’s a popular figure which is why he is being deprived. Request the Government of India not to take a decision politically, but for the sake of cricket and sports. He is not a political party member.”

Not just the exit, the TMC also had issue with the appointment of Sourav Ganguly as the BCCI Chief in 2019. Its leaders alleged that BJP is doing so in a quid-pro-quo deal. It alleged that BJP wants to lure him into BJP by offering him the post of BCCI President.

Back then in 2019, TMC leader Madan Mitra had alleged that Sourav Ganguly was made the BCCI chief as the saffron party, BJP, wanted to project Dada as its CM candidate against Mamata Banerjee.

On his resignation, TMC leader Mitra alleged that Ganguly could not do what Mithun Chakraborty did for the BJP. He alleged that BJP has jailed all those who have refused to join their party. He added that they couldn’t jail Dada as he is a nationally recognised face.

The Trinamool Party gave it a spin and termed it as an example of “political vendetta“. It alleged that Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah continued as the BCCI Secretary for a second term but Sourav Ganguly was not given the second tenure as its President for political reasons.

Another example of political vendetta.

Son of @AmitShah can be retained as Secretary of #BCCI.

But @SGanguly99 can't be.

Is it because he is from the State of @MamataOfficial or he didn't join @BJP4India ?

We are with you Dada!

Kohli fans went Gaga on Ganguly’s exit from BCCI

By the time news of Ganguly’s resignation from the post of BCCI President aired, Virat Kohli’s fans started rejoicing like there’s no tomorrow. They were irked as it was during Dada’s tenure as BCCI President, that out of form, Virat had to give up his Test and ODI captaincy.

From that time itself, Kohli fans had been irrationally passing hateful comments at Dada. They alleged that dada was the reason for Kohli giving up his Captaincy ‘privileges’. But nothing can be further than the truth. In fact, Dada made a public statement that he had a discussion with Kohli and tried to persuade him to continue as team India’s captain.

However, the statement became the reason for a completely avoidable conspiracy. After Ganguly’s public statement, Virat Kohli talked to the media and stressed that no one has spoken to him at all. However, after sometime sanity prevailed and the conspiracy was ended without any further mud slinging.

But it seems that Kohli fans saw the recent development to hit back at the legendary cricketer for what they allege was his “fault”. They rejoiced the exit of Dada as BCCI President and called it a result of his bad karma.

What do u think?
(Note : I respect & admire both Ganguly & Kohli) for their contribution

Kohli fans and TMC leaders should realise that not every event happens as they imagine it in their head. Some events are as mundane as any routine daily affair. The fact is that Saurav Ganguly resigned on his own will and didn’t want a second tenure at the BCCI office.
