Everyone in their life has at least once made an excuse to get away from a critical situation. But as we grow old the tendency of making excuses dies down and we start owing the responsibility for our acts. But it seems that the AAP leaders have made it a habit to make excuses. Like the National Convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal making feeble and absurd excuses to shun, dump his responsibilities on PM and the Union government. But the latest pathetic excuse by the AAP Minister Satyendra Jain seems to have shattered all limits of sanity.
A Minister who lost his sanity?
The AAP Minister Satyendra Jain has been accused of laundering over Rs 16 crore. Allegedly he made hawala transactions with the help of his wife, daughters, friends, and aides. So, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been grilling the Minister regarding the money laundering case. As per ED, during questioning on documents pertaining to hawala transactions, the Minister always acted ‘evasive’. Additionally, he made an obnoxious excuse to get away from the tough line of questioning. He claimed that his memory has been affected due to COVID.
You heard that right. We are not making this up. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the Rouse Avenue Court that Satyendar Jain had claimed that he had lost his memory due to the effect of Covid during investigation. As per ANI, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju said, “He denied the connection with the trust. When confronted with documents he said he doesn’t remember as his memory has been affected post-Covid-19”.

Further, ASG Raju made a submission in the court and said, “He’s a very slow writer. Takes about two hours to write one page. His statement has to be taken in his handwriting otherwise he says ‘it’s not my statement’.”
Sharp fall of arguments: From Padma awards to Mental help?
After the ED arrested Health Minister Satyendra Jain, the AAP party was quick to term it as a vendetta of the BJP. The AAP went to support its tainted Minister to the hilt. In a bizarre turn of event, instead of sacking Minister Jain, AAP demanded to confer him with Padma Awards. But statements like this act as a hindrance and stalls the due process of law. As for a free and fair investigation, any scope of biases should be avoided.

But the AAP party not sacking him means that he still has power to alter facts. With his undue advantage over the bureaucratic system, he can destroy relevant documents.
The ED also pointed out this possibility in their arguments to deny him bail. The ASG said, “He is influential, he may influence the witnesses as the investigation is still going on.”
The AAP didn’t stop at this hilarious demand of Padma Award to alleged Minister Jain. It went only to play the Minority Victimhood card. The heavy weight RS MP Sanjay Singh linked the arrest of Minister Jain to the whole Jain community. This outlandish linkage was harshly rejected by the Jain community.

Earlier, during a raid the ED had recovered Rs 2.82 crores in cash and 133 gold coins weighing around 1.8 kg from properties linked to Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain.
It has been seen that to avoid suspicion or revealing dampening truth, many ‘criminals’/ suspects act weirdly. While some try to act smart, others try to act in utter stupidity. These attempts by the AAP and its Minister Jain seem to be a mix of both. But such cheap gimmicks will only reinforce suspicion against the Minister.
If ED gets further dampening evidence against him, it will be hard for him to continue with these evasive things. He would have to sign like a canary and all the lies and canards will be exposed. All the skeletons will come out from the closet and the leaders masquerading as common man (Aam aadmi) will be left bare faced.
