Beheading female mannequins, smashing musical instruments, here is the new “progressive” Taliban for you

Taliban has been infamous for beheading anyone going against them. Now, they have taken this madness to the next level and are targeting non-living objects. Female mannequins and musical instruments, two key signs of a progressive civilisation, are new targets for the tyrannical Taliban.

Taliban beheads Female mannequins

Taliban has now set out on a new mission to destroy what they term as a ‘non-Sharia’ legacy. After beheading thousands of humans and animals, they are now giving the same treatment to female mannequins.

According to a report by Raha Press, Afghan’s Directorate of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (DPVPV) has said that female mannequins violate Sharia Law; considered as divine by Taliban administration. According to them even if someone looks at these mannequins, they are violating Sharia.

Loss of female mannequin— A financial tragedy for shopkeepers

Based on these assertions, DPVPV asked shopkeepers in Herat province to get rid of them. However, when they complained that removing them will lead to huge losses, the Taliban asked to keep them in beheaded shape. The new ruling also is a jolt to shopkeepers. Shopkeepers said that mannequins are a prime attraction for customers and one mannequin costs anything between $100-$200 to them.

Ali Ahmad, one of the shopkeepers affected by this ruling said, “Actually, these mannequins are my only belongings now, and now with this new order I have to cut their heads off. It is a great loss for me.”

Taliban is targeting anything remotely connected to modernity

This is not the only contentious order passed by the Taliban regime. Recently, they had unleashed a series of attacks on sources of entertainment left in the country. In August last year, they had killed a local folk singer Fawad Andarabi in northeastern Baghlan province.

A few days back, the tyrannical administration was found forcing Afghani musicians to destroy their musical instruments. In another viral video, Taliban militias were seen executing death sentences to Television. They asked a man holding the TV to take an oath that he will never watch it again. After that, they destroyed the TV as well.

The Taliban making the people of Afghanistan destroy their TVs and make them promise that they won’t watch tv again, all the while recording the destruction on their cell phones to share on the internet… irony dies everyday in this part of the world

I fear this is a sign of things to come. A strangely harrowing sight of two grand pianos smashed up in Kabul’s state recording studios. When I visited Taliban guards insisted this is how they found them. Their spokesman @Zabehulah_M33 said music is un-Islamic #Afghanistan pic.twitter.com/bvcttHz2g6

Taliban 2. O promoted by left-liberals stands exposed

The recent lines of attack are totally different from the image of ‘Taliban 2. O’ painted by the left-liberal spectrum of public space.

When the Taliban removed the democratically elected government in Kabul, a major section of intellectuals tried to run a sympathy wave for them. For someone like Samajwadi Party MP, Shafiqur Rahman Talibanis are freedom fighters, while for others like Shahid Afridi, the Taliban promoted women’s empowerment.

However, as soon as the Taliban administration took their oath, they dismantled all these lies. In one such brutal incident, they killed a pregnant police officer in front of her family. Later they went on to ban women from public spaces. In fact, they disallowed them to travel without any male compatriot. Moreover, they have created an atmosphere of terror in the region. Now, Pakistan, which helped the Taliban to re-establish, seems to be their new target.

If the above-mentioned acts of cruelty are not good enough, then nothing will be able to convince urban Talibanis about the genocidal nature of the Islamic regime. It’s time they should shed their intellectual arrogance and call out the Taliban for their atrocious reign.
