We know that actors usually show case their skills in social media primarily by making short videos by dancing or singing. In an interview Puneet Sachdev revealed that although the TV industry is more organized now, casting directors are only interested in actors who have a good following on social media.
He says: “One of the biggest obstacles to getting a role is social media. An actor is chosen on the basis of his followers and not his acting skills. That is why people like us, who do not dance or sing on reels, do not find followers. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I can’t dance or sing on social media to get views. That is why people may not consider my acting skills. I’m ready to do anything for a role, work hard to show off the role, but making reels is not my strong suit.
