Search “solar company in Bangalore” online, and you’ll find dozens of solar vendors, all claiming to be the best. For someone installing rooftop solar for the first time, choosing the best solar company in Bangalore can be more confusing than it should be.
Choosing the right rooftop solar installer matters because they affect everything from your system’s output to your subsidy disbursement. A wrong choice may result in poor installation quality, slow after-sales support, or paperwork that never gets filed properly.
This guide will give you a practical framework to evaluate any solar company on your own, so when you’re looking at any installer, you’ll know exactly what to check before hiring any of them in Bangalore.
How to Choose the Best Solar Company in Bangalore?
While choosing a solar company, it is crucial to keep certain things in mind to get the optimal results. You can check the following factors before saying yes to any solar company in Bangalore:
1. Check for Proper Certifications
Before you start anything, ask your installer whether they provide BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers)-certified panels. BIS certification ensures the panels used by the installers meet India’s official safety and quality standards. ALMM listing shows the solar PV module is listed on the official list, managed by MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy). Solar panels with ALMM listing are also an eligibility factor for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy.
2. Look at Their Actual Experience
You must ask the solar installation company about their experience. Ask how long the company has been installing rooftop solar systems. You can also check their number of installations on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana portal. A company with experience has handled hundreds of problems, including shading issues, different roof types, weather problems, and more. The experience matters here in a very practical way.
3. See If They Actually Assess Your Roof
A trustworthy solar company will definitely do a 360-degree roof analysis before providing you with any quotation. Anyone who is installing a rooftop solar needs to analyse the right orientation, shading from nearby obstacles, the structural condition of the roof, and more. If a company gives you a number without even seeing your roof, that quote is based on guesswork, not your actual home.
4. Ask Who Does the Real Installation
Most solar companies in Bangalore handle the sales and marketing part of household solar panels installation and pass the actual installation to a local vendor. If you check the handling of local vendors, you may change your idea of solar installation. You should ask directly whether the company has trained solar experts who handle the panels with proper care. The answer can affect the quality of panels and savings.
5. Pricing and Financial Options
Once the roof analysis is done, your solar company will provide you with the quote. You must check the pricing of each component, including panels, inverter, mounting structure, and wiring, along with the labour and any additional charges. If you feel the quote is vague, that is a sign that the company is not transparent and may charge you extra later on or compromise on quality.
In addition, you must also ask whether the solar installation company is providing you with any financing options. Solar financing through banks or NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies) can make your investment in solar easier.
6. Check How They Handle Subsidy and Paperwork
Getting the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana subsidy and setting up net metering involves government portals and coordination with your local electricity board. This process can be confusing for a first-time solar buyer. A good solar company manages this on your behalf, from start to finish, so you’re not bothered much with such paperwork and approval processes.
7. Ask About AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract)
A reliable solar company will never be limited to installation. Even when they talk about maintenance and solar system servicing, they will not only provide cleaning services, but they will be ready to take up t after-sales service, including occasional cleaning, regular inspections, repairs, and replacements to maintain optimal system performance.
Ask your rooftop solar installer about how many maintenance visits they provide in a year, and what exactly is covered. A company that disappears after installation is a real risk for a system that is meant to last 25 years.
8. Look for a Real Performance Guarantee
You may only look for the component or product warranty. But this time ask your installer about the performance warranty. There’s a company called SolarSquare that stands behind its numbers with an actual performance warranty. They give you an estimated unit output for each year, and if your system falls short of that, they compensate you for the shortfall at ₹8 per unit.
Next time, make sure the company you choose provides you with a written guarantee backed by a clear compensation policy. This tells you how confident a company really is about its quality.
9. Read Reviews Carefully
Looking for a star rating alone will never tell you the full story. You must read the detailed reviews of the customers of the chosen company. You need to focus more on the ones that mention what happened months or years after installation. This is usually where the real differences between companies show up.
You can also ask the solar company for a customer visit in your nearby area to get a clear answer about how the company supports its clients and performance after the solar system installation.
10. Ask About the Component Manufacturers:
You must ensure the chosen company uses components from valid manufacturers. You can do your own research about which companies are popular for panels, inverters, and structures. If the company is using any local components, this can affect the overall efficiency and can lead to frequent repairs and replacements.
Why the Right Installer Matters More Than the Lowest Solar Price
That lowest quote that looks too good to pass up usually comes with a catch. You may be signing up for lower-grade panels, a fragile mounting structure, or a vendor who installs the system and then vanishes. And these things rarely show up on day one; they show up months later, as lower power output, a leaking roof, or a warranty claim that gets rejected because the installation wasn’t done properly in the first place.
A reliable installer doesn’t stop at putting panels on your roof. They walk you through PM Surya Ghar portal registration, DISCOM (Distribution Company) approval, and the subsidy disbursement process, instead of leaving you to figure it out alone. This is where a company called SolarSquare comes into the limelight.
- SolarSquare is recognised as the #1 rooftop solar company in India as per the PM Surya Ghar Yojana Portal.
- It uses only BIS and ALMM-certified panels.
- Their mounting structures are engineered to handle wind speeds of up to 170 km/hr.
- With remote monitoring, they also provide performance claims with an actual savings guarantee and a money-back commitment of ₹8 per unit if the promised power units are not generated by their installed solar system.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the best solar company in Bangalore isn’t about finding the lowest quote. It’s about finding one that designs solar for your specific roof, uses certified equipment, handles your paperwork properly, and stays involved well after installation too.
The panels are going to sit on your roof for the next 25 years. So the company you trust to put them there should be one you can rely on for just as long. Take the time to check these things before you sign anything. It’s really what separates a solar investment that pays off from one that quietly lets you down.
