‘You helped China spread propaganda,’ US House of Reps slams WHO for colluding with China, starts investigation
Share on FacebookShare on X

There have been growing calls to punish and isolate China for its role in creating a pandemic. While China will be punished or not remains to be seen but the ball has been set rolling for punishing China’s lackey, the Director General of the WHO, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. The US House Committee on Oversight & Reforms has shot off a letter to Dr Tedros slamming him for his over zealous defence of China and has demanded that all pertinent communication related to but not limited to COVID-19 between the WHO & China to be handed over. This has effectively set the time ticking for Dr Tedros as the noose around his neck increasingly tightens and his masters in China can do nothing about it.

The US House Committee on Oversight & Reforms in a fiery letter to Dr Tedros has slammed the role of the WHO in helping China disseminate its propaganda. The three-page letter states that, “Given the actions and statements of WHO officials during the past few months, we are concerned that the WHO is no longer serving the needs of the world and is instead taking its cues from China.”

During the peak of the virus in China, there were grave accusations that China was hiding the true figure as it sought to clampdown on anyone who dared to expose the shortcomings of the Chinese Communist Party. Shockingly, despite the glaring evidence, Dr Tedros had the audacity to commend the CCP for its “transparent” handling of the virus. The letter has slammed Dr Tedros for refusing to put an iota of blame on the Chinese Communist Party as it stated that, “You, as leader of the WHO, even went so far as to praise the Chinese government’s “transparency” during the crisis, when, in fact, the regime has consistently lied to the world by underreporting their actual infection and death statistics.”

The letter then moved to completely obliterate Dr Tedros’s defence as it listed out examples of how Dr Tedros and the WHO relied on false information from the Chinese government, thereby blinding the world. The letter elucidated how the WHO denied human-to-human spread of COVID-19 based solely on Chinese propaganda, despite several warnings from Chinese whistleblowers and Taiwan. It further slammed the WHO for the delay in naming the virus as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and pandemic because the Chinese government liked the world to believe that they had the virus under control.

The letter stated, “By the time the WHO declared COVID-19 a PHEIC on January 30, 2020, the disease had infected almost 10,000 and killed almost 1,000 people in 19 different countries. It is reported that the delay in PHEIC declaration was a result of intense pressure from China. While making the declaration, you said that “China is to be congratulated for the extraordinary measures it has taken to contain the outbreak.” Since then, there have been over one million new cases and 80,000 deaths worldwide.”

The letter made note of how the WHO castigated countries like the USA and India who sought to restrict travel from China. While the WHO severely criticised Trump’s decision to place a travel ban on China on January 31,2020. However, much more lives could have been saved had the WHO heeded to early warnings of Taiwan as between December 31 – when cases were first reported – and January 31, over 430,000 people were on direct flights from China to the U.S.

The letter further added, “The WHO has routinely praised China’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 despite multiple reports that China engaged in a massive disinformation campaign. You (Dr Tedros) even said China should be “praised” for these manipulative tactics; tactics frowned upon worldwide.”

In a sign that the WHO is going to face severe consequences for pandering to Chinese propaganda and risking American lives, the letter stated, “In 2017, the WHO received 17% of its total funding, or $513 million, from the United States. It is essential that American taxpayers’ money is allocated to organizations that uniformly serve the interests of nations across the globe, not merely the interests of China’s authoritarian, communist regime.”

Hence, the committee on Oversight and Reforms demanded “all documents and communications regarding public health, including but not limited to COVID-19, novel coronavirus, or coronavirus, between the WHO and the Chinese Communist Party or the government of China between August 2019 and present.”

The committee also demanded “all documents and communications regarding the total number of infected persons and deceased persons related to the current COVID-19 pandemic in China, including those infected but asymptomatic.” China has been notoriously changing its policy on the virus as it seeks to exclude the asymptomatic patients from the official count before performing a volte face earlier in March.

The committee also supported Taiwan’s case as it demanded “all documents and communications regarding public health, including but not limited to COVID-19, novel coronavirus, or coronavirus, between the WHO and Taiwan between August 2019 and present.”

Recently, after coming under heavy fire from the US President Donald Trump, Dr Tedros chose to pontificate and resorted to playing the victim card. Dr Tedros instead of lauding Taiwan for perhaps being the only country yet to have successfully won the battle against the Wuhan virus, has instead slammed the country for targeting him,“I can tell you personal attacks that have been going on for more than two, three months. Abuses, or racist comments, giving me names, black or Negro. I’m proud of being black, proud of being Negro. I don’t care, to be honest … even death threats. I don’t give a damn.” He further added, “Three months ago, this attack came from Taiwan. We need to be honest. I will be straight today. From Taiwan,” he said. “And Taiwan, the Foreign Ministry also, they know the campaign. They didn’t disassociate themselves. They even started criticizing me in the middle of all that insult and slur, but I didn’t care.”

Dr Tedros has asserted that Taiwan is responsible for the “racist slurs” against him which has prompted an angry reaction from Taiwan as they have asked for an apology from Dr Tedros for such baseless claims.

‘Not cholera but acute diarrhoea,’ WHO chief has a history of covering up epidemics & sucking up to China

Now the Chinese Communist Party has scrambled its resources to protect its lackey, Dr Tedros. China has accused Taiwan of “venomously” attacking the WHO. China’s Taiwan Affairs Office has now taken aim at Taiwan’s ruling party, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) – a known China baiter.

“The DPP authorities are unscrupulously using the virus to seek independence, venomously attacking the WHO and its responsible people, conniving with the green internet army to wantonly spread racist comments. We strongly condemn this,” said the country’s Taiwan Affairs Office.

The CCP liked to live in an alternate universe as it continues to claim that Taiwan is a part of China where in reality, Taiwan has been an independent nation which has been running its own governments since 1949. China is desperately trying to bring back Taiwan to its fold and won’t hesitate to apply force if needed. While the WHO considers Taiwan to be a part of China, the former in the wake of the Wuhan virus is now rapidly gaining legitimacy much to the XI Jinping’s displeasure.

WHO is just the tip of the iceberg: China is taking over the global narrative one international body at a time

Laughably, the paranoid Chinese Communist Party started an influx of Twitter users allegedly from Taiwan apologising to Dr Tedros for the “racist slurs”. Apart from Xi Jinping, no one for even a moment would have believed that these were genuine users as Twitter is overflowing with Chinese bots who sing praises for Xi Jinping. The CCP has to rely on bots as no sane person can ever support the actions of Xi Jinping.

“There is a concern it is a deliberate operation by overseas forces. Falsely claiming to be Taiwanese and openly admitting to racist attacks on WHO Director General Tedros and begging forgiveness seriously damages our country’s international reputation,” said Taiwan’s Justice ministry.

‘Ignore WHO, we shall listen to ICMR,’ How Modi govt sidelined WHO and averted a major crisis

China’s massive PR exercise has continued to backfire as now some Twitter users have begun using the hashtag ‘#ThisAttackComesFromTaiwan’ to showcase how the country is helping during these difficult times and also make a note of all the positive things to come out of the island country, including its democratic system and being the first place in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage.

United Nations: A useless and expensive sham of an intergovernmental organisation & Chinese lapdog

No matter how hard China tries to shield Dr Tedros, the lackey is all set to pay for his sins which as affected billions of people across the globe.
