Fear of China makes WHO official Bruce Aylward act like a deaf & forgetful 90 year-old the moment he’s asked about Taiwan

As the Wuhan virus pandemic continues to spread unabated, more murky details of the World Health Organisation’s collusion with the Chinese Communist Party continue to come out.

This time around, during an interview with Hong Kong-based RTHK journalist, the WHO’s assistant director-general Bruce Aylward ended the video interview after the journalist quizzed him about Taiwan’s efforts to combat the Wuhan virus.

In what reveals the extent of Chinese intrusion and influence in the WHO, Bruce Aylward who is the assistant director-general of the WHO when asked about by the RTHK journalist if the WHO would reconsider Taiwan’s membership, initially pretended that he hasn’t heard the question. When the journalist again attempted to ask the question but Aylward was quick to dismiss it and asked her to move to the next question. But the journalist didn’t budge and again sought to ask about Taiwan, Aylward abruptly ended the video interview.

The journalist then proceeded to call him again and asked Aylward about his thoughts on how Taiwan has done to combat the virus. Shockingly, Aylward forgot his position at the WHO and started behaving as a spokesperson for the Chinese Communist Party and exclaimed, “ Well, we have already talked about China and you know, when you look across all the different areas of China, they have all done quite a good job.”

‼️WOW‼️ Bruce Aylward/@WHO did an interview with HK's @rthk_news & when asked about #Taiwan he pretended not to hear the question. The journalist asks again & he hangs up!

She calls back & he said "Well, we've already talked about China."

It has long been a dream of the Chinese Communist Party to claim Taiwan as a part of China but in reality, the CCP has no jurisdiction rights over Taiwan. To see Aylward directly toe the line of the CCP is a sign that the WHO officials are being thought policed. There is no doubt that Chinese funding and influence has overwhelmed WHO and destroyed the institution as it were. From praising China’s authoritarian handling of the virus to now claiming that Taiwan is a part of China, the WHO has done it all expect to focus on containing the pandemic

The world would have been a much better place right now only if the WHO had listened to Taiwan’s early warnings. Taiwan was one of the countries to wake up to the threat of the Wuhan virus and it alerted WHO on Dec. 31 to human-to-human transmission by detailing how Wuhan medical staff were getting ill.

But the WHO ignored the warning perhaps because China claims Taiwan to be a part of its territory while in reality, the Chinese Communist Party rules only the Mainland China. Paying heed to Taiwan’s warnings would have meant the WHO recognising the global status of Taiwan something which Xi Jinping wouldn’t have liked. Hence, the desperate warnings of Taiwan g were paid no heed by the WHO.

To put things into perspective, Taiwan was the first country to act against the threat of the Wuhan virus as around 60,000 flights carrying 10 million passengers travel between Taiwan and China every year. However, the WHO decided to play Beijing’s political games as it excluded the country from the emergency meetings of the WHO on how to tackle the Wuhan virus.

Since 2016, Taiwan hasn’t been allowed to participate at the annual World Health Assembly and WHO technical and experts’ meetings — which is a sign of the spell that China has over the WHO.

Much to the glee of Xi Jinping, the WHO continues to address Taiwan as “Chinese Taipei” and all the cases of the Wuhan virus released by the Taiwanese authorities are shockingly placed under China despite the fact that the Xi Jinping government has no jurisdiction over Taiwan.

It is important to note that, Taiwan has been ranked as no.1 for two consecutive years in the Health Care Index and the nation’s participation in the WHO meetings would have certainly helped the world.

What’s more appalling is the fact that on February 28, the WHO listed Taiwan as “very high risk” at a time when the country had only 34 confirmed cases of the Wuhan virus. This had a devastating impact on Taiwan as countries like Italy, Philippines and Vietnam restricted the flights to and fro from Taiwan and also the entry of Taiwanese nationals.

The same Dr Aylward led a WHO joint mission to China during the peak of the virus’ outbreak in the country. At that time the videos coming from the hospitals of Wuhan were nauseating with dead bodies lying on the aisled of hospitals.

The Aylward led mission came out with a shocking report that sang endless praises of Xi Jinping and the CCP.

After the mission, Aylward was quoted, “It’s the unanimous assessment of the team that they(China) have changed the course of this outbreak. What was a rapidly escalating outbreak has plateaued and then come down faster than one would have expected,” and he further added that hundreds of thousands of people in China did not get this because of this response.

While the Communist government has imposed a two-month lockdown on Wuhan, the 40 page WHO report meekly mentions the lockdown as “strict traffic restrictions” and “the cordon sanitaire”. The report lauds China’s epidemic response measures — but conveniently ignores the late-December / early-January dates that might implicate the party’s initial mismanagement of the crisis.

If there were any doubts on the neutrality of the report, a line in the report reads that: “In the face of a previously unknown virus, China has rolled out perhaps the most ambitious, agile and aggressive disease containment effort in history.”

The WHO in its report listed the origins of the virus as one of the “key unknowns” in a bid to please their Chinese masters. Finding the index case is paramount to understand the nature of the virus and accordingly plan containment measures. The WHO had one job to do that is to find the index case, which it grossly failed to do.

Since then, Aylward has become a darling of the Chinese government’s propaganda machinery who featured him regularly as he endlessly appreciated the efforts of the Chinese government.

In an interview with Channel 4 on Mar 4, Dr Bruce Aylward of the @WHO praised #China's #coronavirus prevention work, saying potential patients were well-organized and tested quickly. Potential patients receive excellent care during their 14-day quarantines. pic.twitter.com/RwzKI0OyAB

— Global Times (@globaltimesnews) March 6, 2020

Aylward has made no attempts to hide his bias as he has repeatedly praised China’s leadership and, during one press conference, shockingly stated that – if he was infected with the disease – he would want to be treated in China.

Truth be told, had Xi Jinping been infected with the virus even he wouldn’t have preferred to be treated in China- such is the state of the country’s healthcare. The same Xi Jinping was absent from the public eye during the virus’ peak in China and even when he finally visited Wuhan last week, Jinping didn’t even care to visit any hospital ward and instead interacted with a select few medical professionals through video conference.

Thanks to people like Dr Tedros and Aylward the world dealing with a pandemic today and thousands have died, with the world being thrown into a recession. As it stands, more than 618,000 people across the globe have been infected with the Wuhan virus and over 28,000 have died but the WHO simply can’t stop praising the Chinese government.

It’s just not Dr Tedros but the entire WHO has collectively colluded with the Chinese Communist Party to blind the world. After the world is successfully able to defeat the Wuhan virus, the WHO must be disbanded immediately and Dr Tedors and Aylward must be tried as war criminals for putting the entire human civilisation on the brink of extinction.
