The Murshidabad killing of an RSS supporter and his family has irked Indians across the nation, particularly Hindus. The killing of the 35 year old man, his pregnant wife and eight year old son is yet another testimony to the absolute breakdown of law and order in the state of West Bengal.
We never expected any liberals and pseudo human right protectionists to speak for Hindus in any part of the nation, even when they are in a minority. But we did expect the BJP and the RSS to stand up against the continuous onslaught of barbarism in Bengal. The BJP, despite winning 18 Lok Sabha seats from the state, seems like an absolutely helpless organisation, with majority of its leaders condemning the Murshidabad incident and pointing out that no liberal has outraged on the issue so far. We realise that like all political parties, the BJP too has to maintain a decent political image. It needs to remain politically correct on inflammable issues such as this. However, what prevents the RSS from speaking against this murderous behaviour which is continuously being inflicted upon its workers in Bengal. The RSS has just issued a mere condemnation for the gruesome murder in Murshidabad. Being the largest organisation which works for the welfare of the Hindu civilisation, is it not incumbent upon them to stand with the Hindus and protest more vociferously?
The RSS, many would think, has a serious clout over people who think of hurting Hindus or any Indian for that matter. Clearly, no such influence is visible in Mamata’s Bengal, where murderers and assassins of the worst kind have been let loose so as to reap political dividends for the TMC. Not just Bengal, even RSS cadres are relentlessly murdered in the state of Kerala which is currently ruled by the Communists.
It is a fact, that ‘fear’ is the most potent deterrent. Whether it be the fear of law, the state, the judiciary or any organisation, fear is what makes people tread their paths with caution. In Bengal and Kerala, there is no such fear of either the law, or the judiciary. The only fear is that of the rise of the BJP. Hence, all such fascist-like killings of opponents are taking place. The RSS should have acted as an organisation which wrongdoers and criminals, who specifically target Hindus, would fear. RSS claims to have 60 thousand shakhas across the country with 6 million members in its fold. What is the point of all these massive numbers if a huge protest cannot be organised. What stops the RSS and its workers from taking a ‘Mashaal March’ in the streets following the Murshidabad incident. It seems the RSS has lost its urge to fight. Among those who are involved in heinous crimes against its workers, there is no fear of retribution.
Many were supportive of the RSS’ outreach programmes recently, and its attempts to portray itself as a modern and visionary organisation. Such attempts seem to be a mere show if the reality on the ground is that of Hindus being harassed day-in and day-out if they are in minority in a region. For just how long will Hindus suffer only because the RSS has an image to maintain? With a strength of more than 6 million, the RSS owes it as a responsibility to ensure justice and safeguarding of Hindus.
Inspite of the RSS not being very vocal about recent atrocities on Hindus, the liberal brigade goes after the organisation nevertheless. Clearly, they cannot afford to lose their core base, i.e., the Hindus, only to please a section of Indians who in any case think it to be an extremist organisation. This is not a rant. It is the need of the hour. It has now become a necessity for Hindus to have a strong apex organisation which will stand up for the community irrespective of states and political parties. The ‘Kshatriya’ spirit needs a big time revival in the RSS. Else, atrocities on Hindus will continue to occur, social media will outrage for a few days, and everything will then quietly return to where it all started.
