“We Industry Walas don’t see the work done by Modiji, but people do” Ranbir Kapoor’s veiled attack on Bollywood liberals

“We Industry Walas don’t see the work done by Modiji, but people do” Ranbir Kapoor’s veiled attack on Bollywood liberals
Share on FacebookShare on X

While shooting for the much-awaited film franchise directed by Ayan Mukherjee, i.e. ‘Brahmastra’ in Varanasi, actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that the elite Bollywood is quite disconnected from the reality when it comes to giving due credit to PM Narendra Modi, especially for his work in Varanasi.

The actor, who was in Varanasi for shooting some segments of ‘Brahmastra’ along with Alia Bhatt and Akkineni Nagarjuna, was all praises for the sea change that has come in Varanasi.

Talking to the media, Ranbir said, “…A lot of change has come in Varanasi. When shooting would be done 10-15 years ago, there used to be a lot of litter, but now Varanasi is cleaner than before. Even the Ganga is cleaner than ever. I think we need to give credit to PM Modi for his Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and we’ve also observed in Varanasi, that whenever we got out and converse with the people, we see lots of love for Modi ji.”

However, while observing this fact, he also revealed a darker side about his own industry. He further added, “The love for Modi ji here is genuine, but this genuine love is not visible in our Bombay, especially within our industry. We’ve understood one thing for sure and that there is strong support for our PM Modi.”

Nothing has been truer than this. To admit that PM Modi’s popularity amongst the masses is quite genuine, and his criticism by many people, especially by the elite Bollywood that is disconnected from the reality, is certainly a bold step, especially by an A-lister like Ranbir Kapoor. At a time when people like Sonam Kapoor try to portray her voice as the voice of Bollywood, especially in terms of shaming an entire community in the Kathua case, it is welcoming to see people like Ranbir Kapoor stand out and present their side of the picture as well.

Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor has been panned a lot for being ‘mum’ on the political developments in the country, especially by his outspoken counterparts like Kangana Ranaut. However, with this admission, it looks like he was just waiting for the right opportunity to present his opinion. However, this is not the first time that somebody from the Kapoor scion has managed to call a spade a spade. Only a couple of years ago, even if grudgingly, Ranbir’s father, Rishi Kapoor, stressed on the need to remove the forced nomenclature of places and buildings in India after Nehru Gandhi dynasty.

With this, Ranbir Kapoor has joined the unconventional brigade of his own industry, whose members have no hesitation in voicing out their appreciation for PM Modi and his work, like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher, etc. On a lighter note, he would now be receiving a barrage of articles and opinion pieces by his own self confessed liberal fans, who will now try to prove as to how Ranbir is a failed actor, just because he happened to praise the living nightmare of their lives, whose name is Narendra Damodardas Modi.
