The Indian film industry, in the past few years, has shown a significant political inclination. The industry is more politically aware and active than before. Renowned actress Kangana Ranaut is popular for her straightforward statements. She is known as an outspoken person, and firmly establishes her views about her industry as well as other areas of expertise.
Recently, Kangana took a witty jibe at the Congress by subtly referring to their past terms as ‘Italian’ government. She was out to cast her vote, and then she addressed the media. She said that as citizens, we are finally independent. She added that the citizens of India have always been ruled by a ‘dynasty’ like the British, Mughals and for the past few years by an Italian government. She said that after years of submissive rule, Indians are finally free in the real sense of the term.

Ranaut said, “It’s a very important day. This day comes once in five years, so please make use of this. I feel India is gaining its independence in the real sense of the term today. Because before this, we were servants of Mughal, British and Italian governments. So please exercise your right and vote.” She further added, “All our politicians who kept chilling in London…the state that this country is in, the rapes, the poverty, the pollution, the ecology…the ‘durdasha,’ the state that our country was in during the Congress rule, it can’t get worse than that. It is time for our swaraj and swadharm. So we should be going in large numbers and voting for India.”
The actress has played major roles like that of Rani Lakshmi Bai. She is a well known voice in the industry and doesn’t hesitate in opining. She urged everyone that voting is an important right of people and that they should exercise it to establish people’s supremacy. Voting is our duty and our right, so it is important to exercise it in large numbers.
It is needless to say that Kangana knows how to play with words. She is sarcastic and politically correct at the same time. It is known that the ‘Italian’ reference by the actress was for the Congress rule in the country. Sonia Gandhi, who is originally from Italy and her son Rahul Gandhi, who is the Prime Ministerial candidate for Congress, have been referred to as ‘Italians’. The dynastic rule of Congress in India has been mocked on various occasions by different political parties as well. It is no secret that the Congress and their successive governments have led the country into economic and political crisis.
