Former Pakistan Prime Minister Pervez Musharraf has accepted Jaish-e-Mohammed’s role in the terror attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The dastardly terror attack claimed the lives of 44 CRPF soldiers and seriously injured four other soldiers.

On Wednesday, Pervez Musharraf condemned the incident. He said, “It is terrible. We regret and we condemn it. There is no sympathy that I will have. I was attacked by a Jaish cadre. I don’t think even Imran Khan would have sympathy for (Jaish).”

Musharraf accepted the role of Jaish-e-Mohammed; however, he also said that Pakistan had no role in the attack.  The former Pakistan Prime Minister said, “Maulana did it, Jaish did it but let us not blame the (Pakistan) government. There should be a joint investigation team to get the details. And if the government is involved it will be regrettable.” Referring to the country’s economic crisis, Musharraf added, “The condition in which Pakistan is, I don’t think the government will get into such a situation.” He also said that J-e-M should be banned.

Pervez Musharraf, a terror apologist is sympathizing with another terror apologist Imran Khan. Last year, Musharraf called himself biggest supporter of LeT and its founder Hafiz Saeed. He had also said, “The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD) are fond of me.”

According to an Economic Times report, in an interview given to Pakistani TV news channel, When asked if he “liked” JuD chief Saeed too, Musharraf said, “Yes and I have met with him.” He also said that he supports Hafiz Saeed’s involvement in Kashmir.

The JeM is behind Pulwama terror is known to everyone now, and Pakistan is its heaven is also an open secret. This Islamic terrorist organization was founded by Maulana Masood Azhar with the aim to separate Kashmir from India and join it with Pakistan. The JeM enjoys the patronage of Pakistan’s notorious secret service agency ISI. It operates from Pakistan and carried out the 2001 Parliament attack, the January 2016 Pathankot airbase attack, as well as the September 2016 Uri attack, and now Pulwama terror attack.

The Indian Express quoted a secret reporter saying, “2017 witnessed heavy losses to terrorist outfits especially LeT and Hizb as their top commanders were killed. The Pakistan based handlers… have started reviving Jaish cadres in valley and main motive of carrying fidayeen type attacks is to push security forces on backfoot in order to give some breathing space to Hizb and LeT.”

Prof C Christine Fair, author of Fighting to the End: The Pakistan Army’s Way of War, observed, “Pakistan’s refurbishing of (the Jaish) is not only about prosecuting (its) regional strategies, but it is also a critical component of (its) domestic security strategy.” She writes, “Envervating the Jaish is a cornerstone of Pakistan’s strategy of managing its own internal security challenges as well as a cornerstone of its policy of nuclear blackmail to achieve ideological objectives in Kashmir.”

According to an India Today report, Masood Azhar head of JeM is busy in setting up its new centre, Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah, near Pakistan’s Bahawalpur. His new centre is situated only eight kilometres away from Bahawalpur’s army cantonment which houses 30,000 troops of 31 Corps of Pakistan Army.
