Telangana CM, K Chandrashekhar Rao, while participating in an Iftar party hosted by his Government on Sunday in LB Stadium, has announced several sops to the Muslim community in addition to reiterating his renowned promise of increasing the Muslim quota in jobs to 15%. it is truly amazing the way he doled out the gifts galore to Muslims in the presence of Asaduddin Owaisi and Central Minister B Dattatreya. Yesterday, Asaduddin Owaisi, who once, wasted no opportunity in castigating our PM, the BJP and was in news then for his clarion calls to Muslims to unite like the pro-Jallikattu protesters, in support of ‘triple talaq.The most embarrassing part was, BJP Central Minister Sri Bandaru Dattatreya was an invitee too, who adored the stage.
Chief Minister KCR started his speech greeting with ‘As-Salaam-Alaikum” and spoke extempore in Urdu, rather than in his mother tongue, Telugu.
What KCR said in his speech:
‘Muslims progress cannot be achieved only with doles and subsidies. Muslims should get their proportionate share in every sector that would be proportionate to their population. Our Government has already pushed the reforms rolling on, and to accomplish this task of our party’ s poll promise, and surely Muslims share in every sector will keep increasing in future’
He further patted himself for filling one Deputy CM, 5 Corporation chairman’s, 4 MLC’s post, 2 Dy Mayor posts with Muslims. He further added that he has plans to fill University Vice Chancellors posts with Muslims.
Earlier in the day, CM had inaugurated a Rs 20 Cr Anees-ul-Gharba Building complex in Nampally, which is proposed to be built in 4,000 sq.yards prime lands in Nampally that was donated by the CM earlier, in addition to the donation of Rs 20 Cr from the Govt exchequer. This is to compensate the organisation, which has lost some lands (just 141 sq.yards) in Nampally during road widening work.
KCR further reminded the leaders present in the party, that his Government is successfully running 204 minority residential schools in Telangana, a unique achievement compared to the national level. He further said
“My objective was to bring out 1,33,000 Muslim boys properly taught. The standards of education in the Gurukuls will be on par with convent school standards. The Govt is spending Rs1,25,000/- per head and scholarships and reservations are being provided on par with what is being provided to SC/ST students. All those who aspire higher education abroad, are being provided with Rs 20 lakh scholarships to pursue their foreign studies. So far 595 students have been benefited under this scheme. 100 Muslim students are being trained in minority study circles for IAS/IPS exams”
Anees Ul Gharba building complex
Coming to the Anees Ul Gharba building complex, it is proposed to house 318 girls, 168 boys separately. Total plinth area would be around 1,53,340 sq.ft, with a cellar area of 28,667 sq.ft and a parking facility for 164 four wheelers, and two wheelers. Ground and first floors are meant for commercial shoppings.
Further, this complex will have an auditorium with 300 capacities. In top floors, separate hostel rooms and prayer halls for boys and girls being planned.
KCR started this appeasement game way back in 2014 within months of ascending the throne. He opened this game with an opening line;
‘The Telangana government is here to serve you’.
KCR first exempted Building tax of Rs 4 Cr on 7 stories Waqf Board Building’. He then promised Rs 1,000 Cr allotment for Muslims welfare and Rs 50,000/ for the marriage of poor Muslim girls. It is followed by 12% Muslim quota announcement and yesterday’s magnanimities.
BJP in Telangana is rightly exposing KCR ‘s overt Muslim appeasement which is going beyond a rational limit. His appeasement policies are surely eyeing polls and for consolidating his vote bank.
Some among Muslims too, viewed this ultra appeasement of KCR is to corner 100% Muslims votes in ensuing elections.
On the other hand, Telangana Hindus are not watching the KCR s appeasement drama like a Kapil Sharma Comedy show. They are not in a mood to take it lying down. The past history of Razakars atrocities which are linked to the present Owaisi’s Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen ( the violent Razakars were acted as storm troopers of MIM during partition time) Hence Telangana Hindus are in no mood to endorse KCR’s overtures anymore.
KCR exposed himself when he avoided celebration of September 16 last year as ‘liberation day’ (Sardar Patel army action in Hyderabad state ) which other states like Karnataka and Maharashtra had celebrated. It was evident that this retreat of KCR was to avoid antagonising the Owaisi clan.
KCR s 12% quota for Muslims is not only legally wrong but also casts religious discrimination. KCR’s this step may prove fatal to his party TRS in coming days.
