According to reports, Rosy alleged that ACP Bhagat touched her inappropriately and pushed her while she was recording the detention of AISA activist Neha Bora. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and other supporters amplified the allegation and demanded action against the officer. Competing accounts have since emerged from protesters, police officials and people who reviewed videos from the scene.
The key issue is not whether someone associated with a political organisation has the right to make an allegation. Anyone who believes she has been mistreated is entitled to approach authorities and seek an investigation. The concern instead centres on transparency about affiliations and professional identity.
