Amid student protests in several parts of the country and continuing demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to recalibrate its strategy by directly engaging with young people. According to sources, the party believes that certain political parties and organizations are attempting to leverage student unrest to create a broader political narrative. Instead of limiting its response to political statements, the BJP now plans to launch a grassroots outreach campaign aimed at establishing direct communication with students and young aspirants.
According to information received by TFI, BJP National President Nitin Nabin recently chaired an important meeting at the party headquarters in New Delhi with Members of Parliament from Delhi-NCR. The meeting was attended not only by MPs from Delhi but also by representatives from parliamentary constituencies in neighbouring Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan that have significant interaction with students and youth in the National Capital Region.
During the meeting, MPs were instructed to work closely with local MLAs, district-level party organizations, and office-bearers to initiate a comprehensive public outreach programme. The campaign will primarily target students, candidates preparing for competitive examinations, and their parents.
Party leaders believe that a large section of young people participating in or influenced by the ongoing protests may not have complete information about the government’s policies and reforms. Consequently, elected representatives have been asked to listen to the concerns and suggestions of students while also explaining the steps taken by the Union government over the past few years to improve transparency in the recruitment process.
According to sources, the campaign will particularly highlight the government’s actions against paper leaks, the crackdown on cheating mafias, measures to ensure greater transparency in recruitment, and efforts to curb corruption and bribery in government hiring. The BJP maintains that compared to previous years, the recruitment process has become fairer, more transparent, and more accessible for candidates from ordinary families.
The outreach initiative will also showcase flagship government programmes aimed at empowering the youth, including Digital India, Skill India, Startup India, Khelo India, the PM Internship Scheme, and other skill development and employment-related initiatives. Party leaders believe that increasing awareness about these programmes will help young people better understand the opportunities available to them.
A senior BJP functionary stated that the objective of the campaign is not to politically counter the ongoing protests but to establish direct dialogue with the youth. According to the party, ensuring that students receive accurate and timely information will enable them to form informed opinions based on facts rather than political narratives.
Following the meeting, several MPs have reportedly begun coordinating with MLAs and local party organizations in their respective constituencies to roll out the campaign. Sources indicate that while the initiative will initially focus on the Delhi-NCR region, it may soon be expanded to other states. The BJP views the programme not as a short-term political response but as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen engagement with India’s youth.
