The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to declare the Class 12 results 2026 in the third week of May. At present, more than 18 lakh students are waiting for their scorecards. Once CBSE releases the results, students will be able to check them on official websites as well as digital platforms.
Importantly, the board conducted the Class 12 examinations between 17 February and 10 April 2026. After the exams, CBSE started the evaluation process using its on-screen marking system. Under this system, teachers assess answer sheets digitally on computer screens.
Meanwhile, CBSE has confirmed that the evaluation process continues without disruption. It has also dismissed reports claiming technical glitches. Officials have stated that the marking system is stable and running as planned.
Evaluation enters final verification stage
At this stage, CBSE has moved into final verification of marks. The board is carefully checking data before publishing results. In addition, multiple layers of review ensure accuracy in score compilation.
Moreover, CBSE has followed a consistent pattern in recent years. In both 2024 and 2025, results were released in mid-May. Therefore, the current timeline strongly suggests a similar schedule this year as well.
As a result, students have been advised to keep their login credentials ready. These include roll number, school number and admit card ID. Without these details, accessing the result will not be possible.
How students can access their results
Once CBSE activates the result link, students can visit cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, or cbseresults.nic.in. After that, they must enter their credentials on the portal. Subsequently, the scorecard will appear on the screen for download.
In addition, DigiLocker will provide verified digital marksheets. Students can log in using Aadhaar-linked accounts or registered mobile numbers. Similarly, the UMANG app will also allow result access through mobile phones.
Thus, students will have multiple platforms to avoid delays during heavy traffic on the result day.
No press conference, results to go fully online
This year, CBSE is unlikely to hold a press conference. Instead, the board will directly publish results online. Along with marks, it will also release the pass percentage and regional performance data.
Furthermore, CBSE will continue alternative result access systems. These include SMS and IVRS services. Consequently, students can check results even without internet access during peak load conditions.
Performance trends and next steps for students
Over the years, CBSE results have shown stable performance trends. Notably, girls have consistently outperformed boys in overall pass percentage. This trend is expected to continue in 2026 as well.
However, students who do not clear one or more subjects will still get another opportunity. CBSE will conduct compartment examinations for such candidates. Additionally, students may also apply for re-evaluation or verification of marks if needed.
