Two sisters from Bhopal have been arrested on charges of forced religious conversion, rape, and running an alleged sex racket under the guise of providing domestic jobs, after two young women accused them of trafficking, drugging, and sexually exploiting them across multiple states.
The accused, Amreen and Afreen, were arrested along with their associate Chandan Yadav after two women, aged 21 and 32, approached the Bagh Sewania police station on Sunday night with separate but similar complaints. Police said the sisters allegedly recruited girls from poor families, promised them employment and a better life, and later forced them into sexual exploitation. Three other accused, Bilal, Chanu, and Yasir, remain absconding.
Investigators said the sisters had moved from a slum in Abbas Nagar to a luxury villa in Sagar Royal Villas near Ashima Mall, allegedly using money earned through illegal activities. Police believe their lavish lifestyle was funded by exploiting vulnerable young women.
According to the FIR, the sisters offered victims domestic work with a monthly salary of ₹10,000, free accommodation, food, and outings. They also promised what they described as a high-profile lifestyle. Once employed, the women were allegedly introduced to parties, pubs, and lounges, where they were pressured to socialise with wealthy men.
The victims told police they were taken to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and other locations in Gujarat and Maharashtra, where they were allegedly forced to have sexual relations with strangers. They also claimed they were pressured to consume alcohol and MD drugs and, in some cases, were drugged before being assaulted.
One complainant from Chhattisgarh, who works as a beautician, alleged that she was taken to Ahmedabad in December 2025 on the pretext of work and raped by Yasir, a relative of Amreen. She further claimed that Bilal and Chanu assaulted her at different times.
The second complainant, a resident of Bhopal who worked as a maid, told police that Chandan Yadav raped her at his sister’s house in Narayan Nagar after Amreen left her alone there. She said he threatened to kill her and defame her if she spoke out.
Both victims also alleged forced religious conversion. According to the FIR, Chandan told one of them to convert to Islam and promised to arrange her marriage. She said she converted under pressure and was later forced to wear a burqa and offer prayers.
Police seized the mobile phones of Amreen, Afreen, and Chandan and found several suspicious WhatsApp groups containing photographs of young women. Investigators said the victims were also photographed in compromising situations and blackmailed.
Additional DCP Gautam Solanki confirmed that a case has been registered and that the accused are being questioned. Police are now examining financial records, travel histories, and digital communications to determine whether the operation was part of a wider interstate network.
The victims said they were threatened with death when they tried to leave, and were warned that the accused had connections with influential people.
At the time of reporting, the police informed that further investigation is ongoing.
