According to reports, the online threat included a message suggesting that Kapil had been contacted previously by the gang, but did not respond. The message stated (translated from Hindi):
“We tried calling him, but he didn’t answer. That’s why we took this step. If he still doesn’t get in touch, our next action will be in Mumbai.”
