The Delhi High Court has issued notices to YouTuber Ajeet Bharti and another respondent in a defamation lawsuit filed by TFI Media Pvt. Ltd., seeking ₹2.1 crore in damages over allegedly defamatory posts on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The suit, heard by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav on May 27, 2025, revolves around two posts made from Bharti’s verified handle, @ajeetbharti, on March 22 and 23. TFI Media claims the tweets were “malicious, cryptic, and baseless,” intended to tarnish the company’s reputation.
Represented by advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, the plaintiff sought an ex parte interim injunction directing Bharti and the platform to immediately take down the posts. The court issued notice and listed the matter for hearing on July 7, 2025.
TFI Media is also seeking a permanent injunction restraining further circulation of the posts and a mandatory directive to the platform (referred to as Defendant No. 2) to remove them.
The suit outlines claims for reputational harm, mental agony, and financial loss, and seeks to recover litigation costs. The High Court has ordered the defendants to file their written responses within 30 days of receiving the summons.
The matter is scheduled to proceed before the Joint Registrar on September 22, 2025, for marking of exhibits.
