Nagpur witnessed a shocking eruption of communal violence on March 17, as Islamist rioters orchestrated a deliberate attack on Hindu-owned shops and vehicles in the Mahal area out of love for Aurangzeb. Through various sources, it is being coming out that the riot that took place in Nagpur was premediated. The attack occurred just hours after Hindu groups protested against the tomb of Mughal tyrant Aurangzeb in Maharashtra’s Sambhaji Nagar. The Mahal area, known for its history of communal harmony, was suddenly transformed into a war zone as mobs set Hindu shops on fire, vandalized vehicles, and even stormed homes and clinics.

BJP MLA Pravin Datke has strongly lashed out at the city police, accusing them of a massive intelligence failure that allowed the well-planned assault to take place. Datke revealed that in the morning, a minor altercation during a religious procession was swiftly controlled by the Ganeshpeth police. However, the large-scale assault that unfolded in the evening was anything but spontaneous.

He stated that Islamist mobs had pre-planned the attack, ensuring that Hindu-owned establishments were their sole targets. Shockingly, a clinic treating a five-year-old girl was also attacked, exposing the barbaric intentions behind the riot. CCTV footage confirmed that rioters first destroyed security cameras before carrying out their acts of arson and vandalism.

The violence was instigated by Islamic fundamentalists who took offense at protests against the grave of Aurangzeb, Islamic invader known for his atrocities against Hindus. Islamists resorted to stone-pelting, arson, and brutal attacks, exposing Islamic fanaticism. Despite the so-called peaceful narrative peddled by some, the incident reveals their inability to tolerate any criticism of a historical tyrant who slaughtered Hindus and destroyed countless temples.

Following the violence, the police imposed a curfew in nine police station limits under Zone 3 and Zone 4 to prevent further escalation. Around 80 to 100 rioters have been detained so far.

BJP MLA Pravin Datke specifically called out Tehsil police station officer Sanjay Singh, who was missing for two crucial hours during the riots, and demanded his suspension.

Completely premeditated: Maharashtra Deputy CM

Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde strongly condemned the mob violence in Nagpur and warned of strict action against the culprits.

In a statement made in the state council and later in the state Assembly, Dy CM Shinde said, “This incident seems to be completely premeditated. There are always cars in the Mobinpura area, but yesterday there were none, which is clear from this fact.”

He added, “The mob attacked houses, set fire to them, and caused extensive damage to property. Some people had to be rescued. Stones were thrown at the police, some were attacked with axes. Fire brigade personnel were also attacked. All this is very unfortunate.”

He further warned saying, “Photos from some temples were burnt, this is a very serious matter. The police will investigate the root cause and strict action will be taken against the culprits.”

He also issued an appeal to maintain peace. However, he came down heavily on those supporting Aurangzeb.

The Deputy CM said, “Whose is Aurangzeb? Those agitators should read the history of Sambhaji Maharaj. Supporting Aurangzeb means treason. Aurangzeb’s grave is a stain on Maharashtra. This stain should be erased, this is the feeling of the people.”

He also slammed Samajwadi Party legislator Abu Azmi saying, “He is speaking for specific votes, a case should be filed against him and he should be suspended.”

He added, “Action should also be taken against Harshvardhan Sakpal (state Congress chief), who compared the Chief Minister to Aurangzeb. If not the people, then at least the minds should be protected.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Nagpur MP Nitin Gadkari have appealed for calm, while BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule has emphasized the need to punish those responsible. The entire episode proves yet again that radical elements are willing to unleash mayhem in the name of Aurangzeb, disregarding law and order.

The Nagpur violence is a stark reminder that Islamists, driven by their devotion to a genocidal ruler, will go to any extent to spread chaos. The government must take strict action against those responsible, ensuring that no religious fanaticism is allowed to disrupt societal peace. The silence of the so-called secularists on this attack further exposes their selective outrage. If India is to maintain its integrity, such pre-meditated Islamist violence must be crushed with an iron fist.
