There has been a huge uproar in Seelampur amid the ongoing voting for 70 assembly seats of Delhi on Wednesday (February 5). BJP workers have accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of casting fake votes in the assembly elections. A ruckus erupted at a booth in Seelampur, and slogans were raised from both sides, after which the security forces brought the situation under control. BJP leaders and workers have flagged an alarming issue stating that AAP invited women from outside to cast fake votes. Also, some women who reached the booth to cast their votes have alleged that their votes have already been cast.
What allegations did the BJP make against AAP?
Amid the uproar at a polling booth in Delhi’s Seelampur Assembly, serious allegations have been made by the BJP against AAP. BJP workers have claimed that several women wearing masks and burqas were called by AAP for fradulent voting. The saffron party said that AAP has left 200-300 people in every school, which is a completely wrong approach and a violation of election rules. According to BJP, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is deliberately trying to spoil the atmosphere in the elections.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said, “Frustrated by their defeat, Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party have resorted to fake voting.”
He further added, “I appeal to the people of Delhi to beware of the tactics of AAP and cast their votes in large numbers.”
The Seelampur assembly seat has more than 55% of Muslim voters, and earlier, this seat was considered a Congress stronghold, but in the last two elections, AAP won here.
At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party has also accused the BJP and police of influencing voting in many places.
As polling is underway in the National Capital, desperation is running deep within the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). For several days and weeks, its senior leadership including Arvind Kejriwal, second-in-command Manish Sisodia, incumbent CM Atishi Marlena have been resorting to desperate measures, even going on to the extent of making alarmist conspiracy theories and unsubstantiated allegations of “mass murders”, thus exposing them as desperate and rattled.
