The BJP has emerged as a major political force in Jammu by winning 29 out total 43 assembly seats in the region, as per the latest information.
National Conference and Congress coalition could secure only eight, PDP zero and others six.
In these 26 seats, BJP won the fiercely fought R S Pura- Jammu South seat. BJP candidate representing the constituency is Narinder Singh Raina.
BJP candidates Sham Lal Sharma and Arvind Gupta have won from Jammu West and Jammu North constituencies.
Jammu and Kashmir, a former state with special rights, was always dominated by family politics involving Abdullahas and Muftis, and their politics and works revolved around Srinagar valley as they didn’t pay much attention to Jammu region.
Whereas, the moment the statehood and the special status of the region was withdrawn by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, things started falling in place with Jammu beginning to get its dues.
Now, even if the Central government has promised that the statehood would be restored in due course of time, there would be no special status to the region, which is now being treated as a Union Territory.
The counting of votes shows that the NC and Congress combine has won the majority mark and will form the next government, the BJP has emerged has as a formidable political force in Jammu region by winning the largest number of seats.
The BJP emerging as the largest party in Jammu region makes it clear that the people have rejected NC, Congress and PDP, and have understood their game of family politics.

Abdullahas and Muftis have ruled the former state for a long time but they failed to ensure anything for the general public. In fact it’s their families and selected few who were promoted during their rule.
At present, the BJP has changed everything in Jammu and gaining ground in the valley too. It’s not long when people of the region would ensure majority for the BJP.
