Article 370 Verdict and the Delicious Meltdown of Left Liberal Loonies

Supreme Court, Article 370, Verdict, BJP

Alright, let’s break this down in a no-nonsense way. Yesterday Supreme Court gave a big nod to a move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This story dates back to 2019, when Modi government decided to shake things up in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir used to have a VIP under Article 370. This was a part of India’s Constitution that let Kashmir do its own thing to a certain extent, all thanks to an old deal made back in 1947.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud weighed in, saying Article 370 was pretty much a temporary fix, like a band-aid, because of the war-like situation back in the day. So, the Supreme Court’s decision was like telling everyone, “It’s time the Band Aid came off.”

This verdict was like music to PM Modi and his Home Minister Amit Shah’s ears. But on the flip side, it was like a bad headache for the folks who lean left and liberal in India. Picture this: a bunch of left-leaning loonies, scrolling through their social media and feeling a major pinch in their hearts. We’re talking about a flood of posts. A mix of outrage, disbelief, and a whole lot of typing was witnessed. That’s the scene across India right now with these ‘Left Liberal loonies’ shedding digital tears and firing off hot takes on their keyboards.

Alright, let’s jump into the deep end of reactions to India’s Supreme Court upholding the move to strip Kashmir’s special status. It’s like a buffet of opinions, some spicy, some bitter, and some just trying not to get burned.

Let’s jump into the deep end of reactions to Supreme Court upholding the move to strip Kashmir’s special status. It’s a buffet of opinions, soaked in tear, barbequed on rage, and sprinkled with hatred.

First off, Pakistan: It said, “India’s Supreme Court verdict upholding the abrogation of Article 370 has ‘no legal value’, asserting that the international law does not recognise New Delhi’s ‘unilateral and illegal actions’ of August 5, 2019.” Pakistan’s is basically saying the court’s call doesn’t count in the grand scheme of things. Yaar Bobsy the King ko bolo, King Kar lega.

Then there is Red Man Sitaram Yechury : He shared a CPM Note that read “The Article 370 verdict has evaded going into the merits of downgrading the state of J&K into two Union Territories, stating that the Solicitor General has promised the return of statehood…So, the restoration is not for the original state of J&K, but only a part of it and even that remains an assurance on paper.” Only Sita Ram the original not this fake commie can understand what this even means.

It is clear that this verdict has serious implications for the Federal structure of our Constitution and is inclined to strengthen a Unitary state structure in the name of “integration” and by invoking “national security.”https://t.co/Q6eLktxjuo pic.twitter.com/u7G2PZxTli

— Sitaram Yechury (@SitaramYechury) December 11, 2023

Islamist Activist and Part time Journalist Saba Naqvi chimed in with “…But statehood must be restored as soon as possible. SC. Briefly the removal of all special status for J &K by Modi regime gets the sanction of the apex court.” Saba is cautiously nudging the topic of statehood, almost like whispering in a room full of loud opinions, trying not to stir the pot too much. She is a top target of Hindu Nationalists. I am sure this is the reason why she whispered and not wailed.

— Saba Naqvi (@_sabanaqvi) December 11, 2023

Then comes the Krantikari patrakar Punya Prasoon Bajpai: He reported the news without his usual commentary, perhaps learning from past experiences where his predictions didn’t pan out as expected. It was like a Masala Chai without the Masala. Kya bhai itna kyu darte ho.

Arfa Khanum Sherwani went full weirdo, she said “To say the least, Supreme Court verdict on Art 370 is disappointing…The faith of the people in the highest court & the hope for justice is diminishing with each passing day.” She expressed a deep sense of disappointment, akin to someone losing faith in a trusted institution. But the she only has faith in one faith and that’s all the faith she has.

To say the least, Supreme Court verdict on Art 370 is disappointing.
But what’s sad and dangerous is that no one is surprised, no one expected anything better from the court

— Arfa Khanum Sherwani (@khanumarfa) December 11, 2023

Next up, Sagarika Ghose: She shared an article with the caption – “The most potent attack on federal principles…” It’s like she’s pointing at a crack in a dam but avoiding being the one to directly say it’s about to break.

Former JK CM Omar Abdullah: “Disappointed but not disheartened. The struggle will continue… # WeShallOvercome # Article370.” Struggle is what matters Omar Bhai, keep struggling.

Disappointed but not disheartened. The struggle will continue. It took the BJP decades to reach here. We are also prepared for the long haul. #WeShallOvercome #Article370

— Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah) December 11, 2023

Kapil Sibal said “Supreme Court, Article 370 Verdict. For most pathbreaking. For some heartbreaking. Law. The court’s verdict had little to do with government’s own understanding of Article 370!” Sibal’s response was nuanced, recognizing the significance of the verdict. He definitely didn’t want to upset milords.

Islamist Activist Shoaib Daniyal said “Schrodinger’s court: Federalism is part of the basic structure. But also, Delhi can dissolve states unilaterally.” Daniyal’s comment borders at the verge of contempt but it’s not for me but for the Courts to decide.

In Democracy everyone must be allowed to voice their opinions, but some people should simply shut up!
