Looks like our star campaigner for BJP is back in action! Yes, we’re talking about Rahul Gandhi and his unwavering penchant for targeting the Adani Group and CM of Chattisgarh. However, as he addressed the crowd during an election campaign in Chattisgarh, he did what he is best at: messing things up for his own party!
Congress scion Rahul Gandhi committed a faux pas while trying to attack the Adani Group and the Narendra Modi government. He boldly claimed, “You (Modi govt) work for Adani Group 24 X 7. And your Chief Minister (CM) in this Chattisgarh also works for Adani.” But, oh boy, did he make a mockery of himself.
Rahul Gandhi probably forgot that the Chief Minister of Chattisgarh is his own guy, Bhupesh Baghel. Despite having a slight advantage over the opposition BJP in the state, it seems that Rahul Gandhi won’t rest until he has turned the tables in BJP’s favor.

Interestingly, Congress has been supporting the Adani Group for a long time. The Indian conglomerate has obtained several projects in Rajasthan under the governance of Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The conglomerate has outlined plans to invest a whopping Rs. 65,000 crores in Rajasthan over the next 5-7 years.
During the tenure of the Maha Vikas Agadhi government, in which Congress was an alliance partner, the Adani Group was able to secure the Dighi port project in Maharashtra. So, it’s not just the BJP who’s been cozying up to Adani.
Maybe that’s a reason why Amit Malviya, the social media incharge of BJP, also took potshots, claiming, “Rahul Gandhi admits that Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel works for Adani all the time. Finally, truth is emerging, that it is the Congress, which has patronized Adani, the corporate group, Rahul doesn’t tire targeting. What a joke he is!”
It’s not uncommon in Indian politics for leaders to target big businesses and corporate entities. It’s a way to appeal to the common man, to show that you’re fighting for the little guy against the corporate giants. However, in Rahul Gandhi’s case, this strategy seems to have backfired spectacularly.
By accusing the Modi government of working for Adani 24/7, he not only failed to make a convincing argument but also managed to shine a spotlight on his own party’s past dealings with the conglomerate. It’s a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black.
Rahul Gandhi’s attempt to create a narrative where the Adani Group is painted as the ultimate evil and the Modi government as their loyal servants might have worked in a different political climate. But in today’s India, where information flows freely, people are quick to fact-check.

In the era of social media and instant news, it’s crucial for politicians to be accurate in their statements. In this case, Rahul Gandhi’s faux pas not only made him look out of touch with reality but also exposed the chinks in his own party’s armor.

It’s also important to note that the Adani Group, like many other corporate entities, has made significant contributions to the Indian economy. They have invested in various projects, created jobs, and played a role in the nation’s development. Targeting them without a solid foundation can backfire, as seen in this case.
While Rahul Gandhi may have aimed to hit a home run with his attack on the Adani Group and the Modi government, he ended up scoring an embarrassing self-goal. The potshots taken by BJP’s Amit Malviya and the historical connections between Congress and Adani only serve to highlight the need for precision in political discourse.
