Khans are back trend: Like we said before, Bollywood is a strange zoo unto itself. These folks have taken “Old Wine in a New Bottle” a bit too seriously. However, it is only now that the masses have begun to understand their intricate web of lies.
It is no surprise that the guardians of Bollywood are doing everything possible to save the prestige of their so-called Empire, as well as the supposed custodians of this empire, known as ‘The Khans’. Some are fervently pleading to the masses to look at the positive, while some are ready to play with figures, just to keep their image hunky dory.

It’s never about Hindi film Industry but about ‘Khans’
Ever wondered why are movies like “Pathaan” and “Kisi ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” raking in moolah at the box office, while the same Khans are back trend tactics made a film like “Brahmastra” bite the dust? It turns out that this game hasn’t been recently devised, it is an age-old trick, whose details are just being unearthed now. But what is this all about? Let’s go back to 2017, when Indian cinema underwent a massive change. Today, Indian cinema can be broadly divided into two distinct parts: Indian cinema before Baahubali, and Indian cinema after Baahubali.
How so? In April 2017, when acclaimed Telugu director SS Rajamouli released the much awaited “Baahubali: The Conclusion”, the movie took the nation by storm. Every notion and myth known to Indian movie buffs was demolished as this movie mesmerized the entire nation. Be it the villager Chintu, or the metropolitan Vicky, the movie became everyone’s favorite. It also grossed almost Rs. 1400 crores just domestically, becoming the highest Indian grosser of all time. With a worldwide collection of almost Rs. 1900 crores, the film began the most successful Indian movie of all time, in any format.

It all Started here
However, one community was certainly not pleased with this. This was Bollywood, which was aghast at the way Baahubali broke the dominance, and the way SS Rajamouli established the fact that Indian cinema is not just Bollywood. Now they were desperate to break this fete, though none of their films were even remotely close to the aura that “Baahubali” had produced.
The moguls of Bollywood were now befuddled as to how restore their prestige, until one guy came forward. This guy just employed a smart trick : release the film in China, where the revenue model, as well as the distribution circuit would not be subject to much scrutiny as that of other foreign markets. Hence, a movie that could not earn even 500 crores domestically, earned a whopping total of almost Rs. 1400 crores, just from one country : China! But then, that’s “Dangal” business model for you!
But was Dangal really that good? When even films like “RRR” have to give it their all to earn anything beyond Rs. 500 crores in the domestic circuits, a film like “Dangal” earning 1400 crores from just China would be like selling Abibas shoes as Adidas, and hitting the jackpot! Sounds good, but ain’t practical!
A gentleman once said, “You can fool some people all the time, you can fool all the people for some time, but you just cannot fool all the people all the time”. Likewise, for those thinking that manipulating figures of their half baked films would restore the pride of an already sinking industry, they miss a simple point. Content is the real king, and nobody, not even Bollywood can run away from it.
