History of this Temple
The history of Mandaphia Sanwariya Seth Temple is believed to be more than 150 years old from today. A famous story is associated with the construction of this temple, according to which it is believed that the supernatural idol of Seth Sanvaliya installed in the temple was extracted from inside the ground.
In the year 1840, a milkman named Bholaram Gurjar had a dream of three divine idols buried underground in Chapar village of Bhadsoda-Bagund. After which those places were excavated with the help of local people and those divine idols were removed. It is believed that out of these three idols, one idol was taken to Mandapiya, one to Bhadsoda and the third idol was enthroned at the same place from where these supernatural idols were taken out.
The Mandaphia Sanwariya Seth Temple complex is a grand beautiful structure built in pink sandstone. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, an idol made of black stone of Seth Sanwalia ji is installed which depicts the complexion of Lord Krishna. The architecture of Sanwaliya Seth temple is inspired from ancient Hindu temples. Beautiful carvings have been done on the walls and pillars of the temple.
