Maa Bamleshwari Temple – Guide

Maa Bamleshwari Temple is in Dongargarh Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. The temple of Maa Bamleshwari Devi situated on top of a hill at an altitude of 1600 feet is the main attraction and pilgrimage place of Dongargarh. The temple of Bamleshwari Devi is a very famous temple located on the top of a hill in Dongargarh, which remains a centre of faith for the local people as well as the devotees coming from different parts.

History of this Temple

The history of Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple is very old and unclear but according to the legend associated with the temple, it is believed that Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple was built by King Vikramaditya of Ujjain about 2000 years ago. About 2200 years ago, a local king, Raja Virasena was childless and on the suggestion of his royal priests worshiped the deities and within a year, the queen gave birth to a son, whom they named Madanasena. Raja Veersen considered it a blessing of Lord Shiva and Parvati and got a temple constructed here which today we know as Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple.

Maa Bamleshwari Temple Timings

Maa Bamleshwari Temple opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 7:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 6:00 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 5:30 PM in the evening.
