Under Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s rule, the Sikh Empire flourished immensely. He himself was known for his progressive policies, which included the establishment of a centralized administration, the introduction of a uniform currency, the construction of a network of roads, canals, and other infrastructure projects. He also made significant contributions to the field of education, establishing numerous schools and universities throughout the empire.
One of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s most notable contributions was his religious tolerance, which stood in stark contrast to the sectarian conflicts that plagued other regions of India at the time. He was a Sikh himself, but embraced a philosophy of religious pluralism, granting equal rights and protection to people of all faiths.
