Shiv Shakti Mandir Bharmour – Guide 

Shiv Shakti Mandir Bharmour is situated at Bharmour in Chamba region in the state of Himachal Pradesh which is a famous temple. This temple is considered to be one of the fine specimens of hill shrines. Devotees come from far and wide to visit this temple. Shivshakti Devi Temple is situated at an altitude of 6,000 feet above sea level. Being one of the famous temples of Bharmour, this place is an important pilgrimage centre.

History of this Temple

Other idols present inside this temple include the six-faced Kartikeya, the four-armed Brahma, the three-faced Vishnu, Shiva and Durga. This temple is also known as “Chhatri Ka Mandir” as it is one of the holiest temples located in Himachal. The influence of the post-Gupta period can be seen in the sculptures of the temple. This temple was built at the time when the Lakshmana temple was built here. A beautiful row of flying figures will be seen just above the entrance of the temple.

Manimahesh Lake

Manimahesh Lake is located in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas at an altitude of 4,080 meters in the Bharmour subdivision of the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Lake Manimahesh is situated near the virgin peak of Mount Kailash, which is believed to be the holy abode of Lord Shiva.

Chamera Lake

Chamera Lake is one of the most beautiful and rich natural lake in Chamba district near Dalhousie, which attracts tourists immensely with its charm. Let us tell you that Chamera Lake is situated at a distance of 25 km from Dalhousie.

Lakshmi Narayan Temple

Lakshmi Narayan Temple is one of the main temples of Chamba. If you come for an excursion to Chamba, then you can also visit this temple. Lakshmi Narayan Temple is the oldest and biggest temple in Chamba.

Chamunda Devi Temple

The Chamunda Devi Temple is situated on the top of the Shah Madar range. From this temple, tourists can get a spectacular view of Chamba city. Chamunda Devi Temple was built by Raja Umaid Singh in the year 1762.

Hari Rai Temple

Hari Rai Temple is the main temple of Chamba dedicated to Lord Vishnu in which Lord Vishnu is seated in his three incarnations as human, boar and lion.

Akhand Chandi Palace

The Chamba Palace or Akhand Chandi Palace is a white-coloured building located in Chamba, built in the mid-18th century. This royal palace was originally built during the reign of Raja Umaid Singh as a residential building.
