Even before they lose, Aussies have started to cry foul

Ian Healy: India’s cricket rivalry that is most cherished apart from Pakistan is with Australia. Australia won 3 consecutive world cups before India stopped its victory voyage in 2011. Since then India has never looked back and became the best cricket team in the world. Now, as India is all set to play with Australia in the upcoming series, the former Australian wicket keeper has already started sobbing over the pitch and so-called technical stuffs of the game.

Ian Healy started crying

India-Australia test series is soon going to start from 9th of February. Australia will be on tour of India for a 4 match Border-Gavaskar trophy. In the scheduled series, baffled Australian team seems to be have started crying like horses. Ian Healy, former Australian wicket-keeper has raised the questions on pitch conditions ahead of the series.

Since Australia is playing test match on Indian soil after 6 years, there is a tough fight expected between them. Questioning the pitch, Ian Healy said “They’ve (India) got a good team but I’m not too scared of their spinners unless they produce unreasonable wickets. If they produce unreasonable wickets like they did half the series last time (we won’t win), two wickets were just terrible, unfair, spinners jumping over your head on day one.”

Defining the only chance of win, Ian Healy further said “So that type of thing they will play better on than we will, but if they get flat wickets that India used to put out, nice flat batting wickets and bowlers have to work really hard, I think we can do it. But (my prediction is) 2-1 India, if (Mitchell) Starc’s unavailable in the first Test.”

Different pitches across the globe

First of all let us understand the conditions of the pitches in most of the cricket playing nations. The Australian pitches are mostly beneficial to fast bowlers as they provide support to the seam. England on the other hand mostly have green pitch resulting to be beneficial for the fast and swing bowlers. However, weather plays an important role due to which it favours almost all the factions of cricket in different seasons. South African pitches have less bounce as compared to Australia but provides swing. New Zealand also have hard bouncing pitches. All of these ‘SENA’ pitches are suitable to bowlers, precisely the pacers.

On the contrary, Indian subcontinent pitches are dry, dusty and dead. They are favourable to spin bowlers and batsman. So, obviously the player of subcontinent will face difficulty while playing on SENA pitches and vice-versa.

Hypocrisy of SENA

Till, they play on there homeland, they glorify their players as the best player who can play 360 degree on the ground. They willingly ignore the pitch condition and criticise the Indian team. But sooner or later, when SENA countries tour India, fearing the probable defeat, they seem like  lamenting even before the commencement of the matches.

In the previous series played between India and Australia in 2021, India toured Australia and in the very first match’s second inning India bowled out on 36 runs only. Eventually India lost the match and Micheal Vaughan tweeted with confidence that India will lose with 4-0. Not a single word on pitch conditions! He was just happy with the pro-Australia circumstances. However, India won the series later. Undoubtedly, it was not the pitch but Indian team’s effort that helped them to win.

Told ya … India are going to get hammered in the Test Series … #AUSvIND #4-0

— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) December 19, 2020

In just a different scenario, when England came to India to play the series, Michea Vaughan showed his hypocracy through a tweet, where he said that if England wins it would be a remarkable victory indicating the pitch condition.

If England win this week having lost the toss on this beach … it will be a remarkable Victory … #INDvENG

Ian Healy! Remember the concept of tests

Ian Healy must have forget the recent South Africa and Australia series in which in just 2 days 34 wickets fell with only 504 aggregate runs scored. Ian Healy barely spoke a word on Gabba pitch. But, when Australia has to play outside their homeland, his hyperbole statement started to surface in media.

The basic concept of test matches is to test the resilience of players. Putting simply, the more resilient wins the match. The basis of test match is to play in different and unfavourable circumstances. That is why, when Indian team plays on foreign pitches and suffer, it’s the team that is blamed back home in India. Not like the Australian team, who fear so much playing outside their country that they start crying foul.
